Ryan steadied himself, crossed to the desk, and picked up the phone.
His assistant's anxious voice came through. "Mr. Carter, there's a man downstairs who says he's Ethan Reid. He wants to see you. The front desk just called me."

He let out a long breath and said helplessly, "Let him up."
