At his question, Vanessa looked hurt. She sat down, turned her face away, and stayed silent.
"It's because of those rumors online."
After a while, she finally spoke, her voice trembling slightly. The corners of her eyes were already red.
"When I returned to the set this morning, the assistant director kept making sarcastic comments."
Vanessa had already offended plenty of people on the set. From her special meals and accommodations to the large number of stand-ins and stunt doubles she brought along, many crew members had long been unhappy with her.
