When Ethan squeezed her, Stella was in serious pain.

Seeing that Thomas was still holding her hand and refusing to let go, Stella had no choice but to smile sweetly and flatter him again.
It was flattery, of course. Thomas was already in his forties. Although he took decent care of himself, his hairline was beginning to recede, and his figure had grown heavier.
Stella was really trying to remind him to let go of her hand.
After being praised by her, Thomas was so delighted he nearly floated away.
