Lilieth As we get closer to the tunnel's end, the darkness gradually gives way to light. It also gets loud. Really loud. I hear a multitude of voices. They seem to be...cheering? I'm stunned. "Told you," Deoné mentions as she turns her head to fix me a look. She appears amused by this whole situation and not offended. "You can trust me. I'm not on these assholes' side." She halts right before we step past the curtain covering the entryway. I reach out and touch it. Linen. Through its material, I see people milling around. The voices are louder than ever.
