Orion paced to and fro in his room, his eyes had turned red, his fist clenched, pondering on what his father, Alpha Magnus announced earlier, he immediately punched the wall
“Get hold of yourself Orion” His mother, Luna Selene barged into his room
“The Alpha made that announcement a few days after he had a conversation with Horace. Do you think he’s hiding something?” Orion asked
“I know what this is about” Luna Selene assured “but I can’t tell you if you won’t calm down
“Fine..phewww” Orion took a deep breath “I’m calm now, you can start talking”
“Watch it, I’m still your mother” Selene challenged
“I do not have the time for that” Orion snarled
“Very well then, I’ll just let it slide this time. Horace has a mate and a pup”
“A what? How is that possible?” Orion asked bewildered
“I overheard his conversation with the Alpha so I trailed him. The pup is 2 months already, his name is Kyron, the Alpha knew all along”
“Arrgggg,” Orion growled, “This is it? This is what I get for standing by his side all this time? He plans to discard me and make that half-baked brother of mine the Alpha because he has a mate now? So Horace would rule over me? I can’t let it happen mother” Orion panicked
“That’s why we need a plan,” Luna Selene said mischievously
“What have you got?”
“We must kill them” she smirked
“Kill who?” Orion furrowed his brows
“All of them you i***t”
Orion chuckled “How do you plan on achieving that Luna Selene “ He rolled his eyes sarcastically
“This isn’t new to me, my friend Zara would be of great help. We’ll take the Alpha out then pay the girl a visit “
“What’s her name?” Orion asked
“Akira” Luna Selene gave a sinister look

“It’s time Akira, time for you and our pup to meet my father, Alpha Magnus” Horace smiled
“Oh great!” Akira sighed “I’ve waited my whole life for this day, thank you moon goddess, I can finally leave this cage my darling Horace locked me in” she teased
“Hahaha” Horace laughed. “It was for your own safety my love, The Luna wouldn’t hesitate to kill you if she had found out earlier that you’re a witch. But that would change now because you’re gonna be my Luna”
“A witch, your Luna?” Akira scoffed
“Yes baby” Horace leaned forward giving Akira a kiss on her forehead while their pup slept beautifully on the bed, his lavender faded hair with honey blonde highlights a perfect blend of his father’s features
“So, should I get my things now?” Akira asked excitedly
“Of course, but I forgot something at the shop nearby, I’ll go get it now,” Horace said
“What did you forget?”
“It’s a gift I got for you and Kyron, why don’t you start packing up, I’ll join you when I get back”
It’s been a few hours since Horace left, and he hasn’t returned. Akira paced in panic in her room
“Where could he be?” She worried
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door
She heaved a sigh of relief, “finally” she paced towards the door, turned the door knob and opened it “where have you..”
She stopped when she realized the person at the door wasn’t Horace, he looked nothing like her love. He was tall, caramel-skinned, his dark shiny hair was neatly woven in a ponytail
“Hi sister-in-law” the stranger at the door grinned
Akira gasped in shock, no one knew where she was except Horace, could this be the half-brother he told her about? Orion
“What do you want?” She feared
“Ouch,” Orion said entering the living room with his right hand on his chest as though he was hurt
“You mean my brother kept me a secret as he kept you? I’m hurt”
“What do you want?” She asked again in defense
“To take you to meet the Alpha of course, Horace sent me here” he lied, his eyes gleaming with deceit
“No, Horace wouldn’t send anyone here. I’m not going anywhere with you, I need to see Horace” she defended
“Ouuuu, too bad for you hun. You see, I came with friends” Orion gestured towards the door as 3 other werewolves in human form entered the room
“So, are you coming with me or should I drag like a piece of rag”
“I’m not going anywhere with you” Akira yelled attempting to run to the bedroom to carry her pup
“Drag her out” Orion commanded
“Let me goooooooo, Horaceee” Akira cried but no one was coming to her rescue
One of them carried Akira on his shoulder as she fought aimlessly, while the other went to the bedroom to carry her pup along
They forcefully dragged her into the car and drove all the way to the castle
Akira panicked as she saw other werewolves gathered outside the castle, the murmuring and wailing made her heart sink
‘Is this it? Is this finally the end of me? Where is Horace? I need to see him before I die’
They dragged her closer to where the crowd was gathered, she could see someone in their midst, chained to a chair but unconscious ‘Horace’ she whispered
Akira attempted to run to where Horace was tied but she was stopped by Luna’s guard
“Horaceee” She screamed
“Finally” Luna Selene draws everyone’s attention to Akira “the mate of a murderer, a traitor”
‘A murderer?’ Akira thought to herself’He wouldn’t do such’
“Horace didn’t only kill the Alpha, he produced a pup with a witch” the Luna announced
“He wouldn’t do such” Akira defended
“Then how do you explain the poisonous knife, used in killing the Alpha found under his bed with bloodstains all over his robe, He killed my mate” the Luna sobbed
“He will be burnt together with his pup”
“Noooooooo” Akira yelled
Horace in his unconsciousness heard the painful scream of his mate the second time and this triggered his beast, Storm. Though he was stabbed, weak, and injured. Storm took control with eagerness to save his mate for the second time
Turning into his beast form, he broke the chains and growled with rage, his eyes turned red. With commands from the Luna, the other werewolves turned into their beast form and a fight broke out
“Stop it pleassess” Akira cried in fear of losing her mate. She watched Horace tear some of the werewolves apart, ripping out their heart, chopping their head off
Luna Selene brought out a knife she had laced with the poison Zara gave her. She wove her way into the fight and drove the knife deep into Horace's heart
Storm growled in pain, seeing that he was now becoming weak, he ran towards the woods
“Follow him and make sure he's dead, he’ll pay for killing my mate, bring me his head” The Luna commanded
“But mother” Orion protested
“Silence” Luna Selene shut him up
“Let him gooooo” Akira cried, She couldn't bear the pain of watching her mate die while she couldn't do anything. She hated herself for not being able to control her powers, for letting go of her powers without a fight
At that point, she remembered the spirit of the strange woman, the one she always sees in her dream, and her words sounded clear in her head: ‘Call me whenever you're in trouble,’ but she didn’t know how to call or who the lady was.
She screamed the name of her dead mother instead
“Louisianaaaaa”
Along her scream came thunderstorm, heavy rain accompanied by an angry wind
