I mumbled curses against Dae under my breath all the way from the infirmary wing to the lab. Though I knew he was looking at the bigger picture for our people, I really needed him to let me wallow for just a little while. Of course, I would get back on my feet and work, but right now I felt so unfocused and exhausted that I was sure I wouldn’t even be able to handle the lab equipment properly if I returned to the lab right now. I would be even more of a hazard if I tried working on an experiment with the poison at this point.
