The light streams through my bedchamber window and falls squarely on my face, forcing my eyes open despite the weight pressed against me. Where am I? I’m lying flat on my stomach, blinking into the light but unable to find the will to move, my brain is fuzzy. What happened? My body is alerting me to a series of different pains, my shoulder in particular. I turn my head to see the crusted blood of teeth marks. Oh, that’s right.
