The ceremony

1650 Words

I had thought that Lycur and I would have more time to get to know each other, before the ceremony. I was sorely mistaken. In between each council meeting, each one we are forced to sit in, I'm made to stand still while my wedding gown is fitted, or I’ve had to oversee the plans for the honeymoon. The list of things to do feels like it's never ending. We only manage to see each other at mealtimes and even then all of our conversations are centered on the ceremony, the royal tour and our eventual journey to his home at Ylva Loupe. Lyva has become a permanent fixture by my side, which means that we are never alone and can't speak candidly in front of her. Neither of us mentions our fight/conversation we had a few nights ago. I have decided that it is better to let it go — for now, anyway.
