Chapter 1Apart from the recent addition of an old stationary bike his mom had carted home from a garage sale, his childhood bedroom hadn’t changed much over the years. The black metal twin-over-full bunk beds with the matching electric blue and orange stripe comforters. The old dresser he’d painted neon green while his parents had spent a weekend away. He’d caught hell for that from his mom, but his dad had just laughed and told him he’d done a good job, but agreed with his mom that the color was hideous. He’d beamed with pride at that.
