Chapter 4It had been another week before Priel had been tentatively released from the medical centre. He still tired quickly, so Matty and Vilmos drove them to Ull’s chosen forest, but remained in the 4x4 while he and Ull slowly walked deeper into the trees.
The full moon was high and bright above them, and Priel felt a tingling of anticipation as they emerged into a clearing.
“This is the place.” Ull shuffled off his backpack. “You just stand there, and I’ll get everything ready.”
As Ull cast the circle, Priel watched and listened carefully. The sounds of the forest were different at night. But calmness filled his heart and soul. His trust in Ull allowed him to relax and simply drink in the charged atmosphere without any need for caution.
