Friday Morning 8:00AM Katrina ... "Katrina honey, wake up it's time to go to school" Our house keeper Audrey whispered lightly while shaking me, she knew I wasn't a morning person at all. "Noo" I groaned stretching my arms to the headboard. "Come on sweethart I know you don't wanna go but you have to" She commanded "Breakfast is on the dining room table come down when you're dressed and ready." with that she left my room and closed the door gently. I groaned once more and ripped the covers off of my warm body, instantly bringing an unwanted rush of cold air over me. I leaned up and looked down at my california king bed that I longed to stay in forever, then got up and headed to my bathroom. You would think being this high classed I'd be home schooled but no no. The only part I hate about school is getting up in the mornings and dealing with these bum ass teachers that always got an attitude. Like it's not my fault you chose to be a teacher. Another thing I hate is the snooty ass kids in my school that think they're to good for everyone else, it sickens me. I swear I hate going to school in the suburbs After using the bathroom, taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and doing my hair I came out and got dressed in a big UCLA hoodie, regular skinny jeans, and my brown uggs. I did not feel like dressing up today especially not a Friday, thank God this is the last day before the weekend. I took a look at myself in the full body mirror admiring my silky smooth caramel complexion, mid back length ombre hair, curves, and everything else. I grabbed my phone off my night stand, threw my charger in my purse, then headed downstairs for breakfast. Audrey had made bacon, pancakes, and eggs. I picked through it and waited on my parents to come downstairs and join me, they'd usually be here before me but I guess they were still getting ready "Hey Audrey?" I called to her "Yes?" She answered from the kitchen "Where are my parents?" "Oh they headed to work earlier this morning." "Oh." I replied let down. I dont know why I still get let down it's not a new thing, Audrey basically raised me all these years. But with my mother, Christy, being the founder of MAC cosmetics and my father, Liam, being the CEO of Apple I should understand their usual absences. By the way she's caucasian and he's black, if you were wondering what I was mixed with. Nothing crazy just Black and White. I sighed and put my fork down "I'm ready to go to school Audrey." "Ok hun." __ "Ayee mami!" One of my closest guy friends Chino greeted hugging me tightly around the waist. He was 18, the same age as me with suave green eyes, dark brown taper hair cut, and a fairly built body.. I'd say he had a two pack under that blue polo. He was a well brought up Mexican but still acted like he came straight from the hood, I would never understand why. His mother and father were the top Relaters in NY.. they sold my parents our house. "Wassup" I smiled. "Look, my boy's having a party later on tonight in Brooklyn you tryna grab Imani and come?" "Uhh" I chuckled "If I can slip out the house .. you know how my parents are" "You a senior and still sneakin out the house" He laughed "Ole stuck up ass parents!" "Hey!" I shouted smacking his arm "Don't act like your parents aren't exactly the same!" "Yeah, and try not to mention that we're rich and live in the burbs while we at this party, aight" He said seriously "I'm not tryna have these thotties jumpin on me talkin bout 'can we go shopping papi??'" I laughed at him then nodded my head. "Alright papi Chino" I said still laughing. "I like it when you call me that" He flirted jokingly "Oh and could you also try not to be so ... you know" "Be so what? Rich looking?" I asked crossing my arms "Yeah!" He laughed. "Chino, trust me I got this I'm not the little naive girl my parents think I am" I assured him putting my hand on his shoulder. "s**t I know you're not, I just don't know how you're gonna act around the real deal, gang bangers, drug dealers, and hoes" He blabbed on "Oooh it's gonna be thugs there?" I asked with eyes wider than a kid in a candy shop "Oh yeah me and Mani are def gonna be there" "Kat .. these aren't the soft ass hood niggas you read in your little fan fictions" He explained "They ain't just gone up and fall inlove with you, all that s**t is a joke. They will kill you." "Ok Chino damn .. all I'm saying is we gone be there" I said with an attitude "Ooh look at you usin slang and gettin a attitude" He said stepping back "Chino I know how to use slang, there's just a time and place to use it!" I explained ~ I walked into my first class and had a seat in the back waiting for Imani to show up with her late ass. "Hey Katrina" Ashley said turning around in her chair to me. Ugh. She was one of the type of people that let her wealth get to her head. She treats people any class lower than her like s**t. She was always nice to me due to the fact my family was richer than hers says Forbes, but I still didn't like her. "Hey" I mumbled looking down at my phone "How's your family doing?" "They're good how about yours?" I questioned not really caring about the answer "Faboulous as usual" She smiled "Cool" I replied still not giving her eye contact "Ugh so sorry I'm late Ms.Emma" Imani sighed flipping her hair with a shopping bag in her hand. I put my head down and laughed, she only acted like the white 'woe is me' character if she was trying to get out of trouble. "And your excuse for tardiness miss Lovelace?" Ms.Emma asked "Uhh" Mani looked down at her shopping bag then back at Ms. Emma "Alarm clock didn't go off, but I got you something" she dropped a MK purse on her desk then pranced to her seat next to me. "Fine don't let it happen again" She replied adoring the purse. I gave her a down low high five then shook my head "You so damn slick" "I know, boo it's just how I do" She whispered back. "Oh and speaking of slick, Chino's friend is having a party later on tonight in Brooklyn you wanna come?" "Hmm I don't know.." "Get this there's gonna be thug boys thereee" I sang quietly. Mani and I always drooled over thugs or gang bangers... it's just somethin about them that just... ooh lawd. "Oh hell yeah! we're there" She whisper shouted "We gotta go shopping though, I don't think I have clothes appropriate for that kind of party. Ooh we finna be turnt up!" I laughed at her then nodded and took the notes on the board. Mani was 18 like me and Chino, we were all close friends. She had dark brown hair that flowed a little past her shoulders with these little perfect almond shaped eyes and mahogany skin. She was pretty, I would wife her if I was a dude... I would never say she had that 'bad b***h' kind of look. She had an innocence to her almost baby like... I guess I mean youthful. Mani and I had been best friends for Lord knows how long. We balanced each other out like ying and yang and we're definitely like partners in crime. (Flashback timeee) I remember when we first met, I was backstage getting into my first outfit so that I could model some makeup for my moms new line. Everyone was in a rush because of a malfunction with the lights, all the models and stylists were busting their asses to make sure that everything was on time. "Can I get someone on my freakin hair?!" I shouted angrily. In the mirror all I could see was people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. My curls just needed a little help. I looked over at a girl who had been sitting patiently with her hands clasped and leaning onto the table. She was runway ready just waiting for her Que. Please don't be a b***h, please don't be a b***h I chanted in my head before I asked "Can I borrow this?" She looked over at me and then down at the curling iron I was pointing to "Of course," she answered. She got out of her seat, picked up the curling iron, and began to fix my hair. I was completely shocked, I mean this random girl started helping me instead of ignoring me like everyone else. Usually models are straight bitches "You have pretty hair," she said as she ran the end of a comb through it. "What are you mixed with?" "Just Black and White" I replied, she nodded. We made eye contact briefly and I grinned. "I'm Katrina." "Imani," she responded. She worked in silence and just as she finished, it was time to hit the stage. "PLACES LADIES!" My mom shrieked clapping her hands. I got into my place in line and then felt a soft touch on my arm. "Hey, the models and I always go get some food after a show. Do you wanna come?" Imani asked. I smiled, "Sure." "Cool meet us here when it's over," she responded while she walked away. That was probably the best modeling I ever did, and it was the last I ever did. But after the show, I did meet up with Imani and the other models and we went to this God awful vegan spot a few blocks down. I nearly reconsidered Imani, but then she slipped me a note across the table when the other girls weren't looking. It had a message written in red ink and said for me to slip out and meet her in the front so we could go get Taco Bell. I read Taco Bell, and that was all I needed to know that she was perfect and it was a start to a beautiful friendship. (Flashback over) I snapped out of my flashback and chewed on the end of my pen looking up to the ceiling with a smile then started trying to picture what this party was going to be like... I need to start learning how to twerk TONIGHT!
