Fen spent the better part of the day watching TV and staying away from Lottie. He couldn’t deny the feelings, but he had decided on expressingly forbidding saying them outloud. She was still alluring, exotic, and an attraction he felt warmth and a sense of belonging with, but that he decided was just because of the distance he had with everyone growing up. He still would smile when she came to the kitchen fora snack or drink, but apart from the gesture he remained silent, something he figured would throw up a few hints to her to stay away.
