Chapter One

Veronicas Pov

Hello, my name is Veronica Price and I'm a werewolf, yes you heard right I'm a werewolf. I'm not one of those typical werewolves that you read about in books. Werewolves are kind and gentle people when you don't mess with their packs or families. I live in one of the largest packs in North America and our packs name is the Moonbeam Pack. Our pack is the second largest pack because our numbers are smaller than the Royal Pack. You're probably wondering what the Royal Pack is, well its the pack that has the King, Queen, Princes, and Princess of the werewolf community. They are higher up than any Alpha, even the second strongest Alpha who is my father. Yes, I'm the Alphas oldest child and that means I will soon take over the pack when I come of age. I will gain the title of Alpha when I turn twenty-one, which is in three months, but my father said that I can't gain it if I don't have a mate and if I don't have one by the time of my birthday then the Alpha title will pass on to my younger sister Monica, who is two years younger than me.

Many people in my pack say that having a mate is the greatest treasure there is, and I somewhat believe them but I don't want a mate yet because I don't want to be held down and I want to be able to go to college and start my career before settling down with my mate and having kids. But life doesn't seem to go the way you want it to, so I guess I have to make a choice either find my mate and keep the Alpha title or go to college and give up my Alpha title to my younger sister, but which one do I choose?

Adam's Pov

Hey, my name is Adam, Adam Walker and I am the soon-to-be Alpha King. I'm not allowed to ascend the throne if I don't have my mate with me and if I don't have a mate then my father will stay on the throne until I find my her or I deem fit enough to rule by myself. You see the point is that I don't want to find my mate yet because I don't want to be tied down to one woman. I want to keep up my bachelor ways and drink and sleep with multiple women. Since I don't want to find my mate I will just have to prove to my father that I can rule by myself and if I so happen to stumble a pawn, my mate, then I will be sure to reject her because like I said I don't want a mate.
