A loud knock at the door jolted me out of my sleep. I bolted up right, flinging my eyes open. Jay grunted next to me as the doorknob clicked, and the door swung open. Clutching the blankets to my chest, I snarled, the hair rising on the back of my neck. Light streamed in through the door, the silhouette of a figure standing in the doorway. I readied myself to jump out of the bed, preparing to lunge at whoever it was. “Morning sleep heads!” A light flickered on, and Ansel’s cheery smiling face beamed at me.
