“I’m going to shower.” Jay stood, letting the blanket fall away. He was nude, and even covered with bits of dried blood, my body warmed. I glanced away, skittering to the side so he could get past. He chuckled, strolling away. My eyes glued to his *ss as he went into a doorway across the room. He paused and we locked eyes as he looked over his shoulder, his eyes turning copper. My face, chest, and ears burned. He smirked and closed the door. I watched it for a minute, before remembering Pepper standing in the room. I clenched my jaw tight, stopping myself from spewing harsh words at her. Not that they were necessary. Pepper had her eyes focused on an open book, feverishly flipping pages. I sighed, realizing that of course she hadn’t checked out my mate. She had her own. St*pid jealousy
