Chapter 64

His eyes lit up, and he balled up my shirt, pulling me closer. His lips pressed against mine, a small gasp of surprise escaping me as my eyes fluttered closed. He was electrifying, his body pressed against mine. I melted into him as a hand trailed up my side. White hot sparks went through me at every touch. His lips, filled with desperation and need. His hand gently stroking my back. Even running my hands up his shoulders sent sparks through me. His heart pounded in his chest, and I reveled in the sound. Knowing I had that effect on him brought more pleasure than anything. My hands traced up his shoulders, curling in his hair. Deep, needy groans left him, and he pulled me closer. His hard d*ck pressed against my hip. My stomach flipped and I pressed my hand on his chest, pushing him away. Our lips detached, and my cheeks burned as he scanned me with a blissful look, his hands still pressing our hips together. “I don’t like s*x.” I blurted out. His face fell, a frown taking place of the blissful look. Oh f*ck, why can’t I stop hurting him? “I mean, I’m not very experiences, at least, I’d only done a few things with a few men, like, a couple blow jobs and s*x, you know, penetrative, uh, five times. It was alright.” I shrugged and grimaced at how his brows were rising high enough on his forehead to merge with his hairline. “I’m sure it’ll be better with you, good even, I mean great! There are literally legends about your s*xual escapades!” Shut up Gwen, you’re rambling! “We can have s*x now if you want! Who am I kidding, you’re hard, of course you want to, we’re mates after all.” I let an awkward laugh and rubbed my sweaty hands on my sweatpants. Jay chuckled, making my whole body burn and not in a steamy way. I yearned to scramble under his bed and hide for eternity. He frowned and did a little fake cough. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to laugh.” His eyes gleamed, the corners of his lips twitching. “I didn’t think you’d be inexperienced. It’s rather cute seeing you so flustered.” He whispered. Great. Now he’s mocking me. “Not many men want a woman whose more muscular than them, even if they’re submissive.” I frowned at the ground, all too aware of our bodies still pressed together. “Their loss, then. Weak men don’t know the pleasure of a strong woman bossing them around.” He flashed me a smile and a wild look burned in his eyes. I froze. “You’re so good at voicing your opinion, I didn’t think it would be different in the bedroom. I’m a bit surprised at your… subdued attitude.” A lump formed in my throat, shivering going through me. I was sure there was some whole other meaning to what he said, but I was too d*mn ignorant to understand. Knowing I was too ignorant to understand didn’t help either. It made a fire burn in my belly. “I’m not good at telling other people off. I can, but you saw how that went yesterday. With Olivia.” I scowled, a little growl escaping me. “Apparently, I can’t stop myself from doing it to you.” I jabbed him in the chest with a finger. He tossed his head back and roared with laughter, his chest rumbling between us. “Good! I look forward to using that to my advantage in the future.” He grabbed my hand that was poking him and kissed my palm. It was an oddly sensual touch, rattling my core. His beard tickled the sensitive, nerve filled area. He flashed another mischievous grin and let go of my hand. I tucked it tight to me, glaring at him. Mixed emotions swirled inside me like a raging storm. I wanted to be angry, knowing he was mocking me somehow. I was the butt of a joke I didn’t understand, and it didn’t sit well. “Does it bother you? That I’m more experienced?” He whispered, his face changing from playful to concerned. I hated it. “Oh… no.” I mumbled. He frowned and his shoulders slumped, and the energy between us dwindled. I could see on his face he thought I was lying. Perhaps I was. “How could I expect you not to have relations before me? That wouldn’t be fair.” “You’re rationalizing it. You are bothered by it.” He looked like I’d told him I drowned puppies for fun. “No! It’s…” The words caught in my throat. He was eyeing me, and I could feel in my bones this was a vital moment. I already decided not to have secrets between us. We’re going to have to get used to talking about difficult stuff. I sucked in a deep breath and straightened my spine. “I’m worried I’ll be disappointing.” Just like all the other men found me. His eyes widened and he stood up straight, no longer looking like a sad lump. “Disappoint me? Gwen, that isn’t remotely possible. Just being near you, basking in your radiance, is enough. I promise you; you won’t disappoint me.” He held both my arms as he stared me in the eye with such a fierce look, my head got dizzy. “Oh.” Was all I managed to whisper. He looked so determined, so serious, I cringed at my earlier pause. I steeled myself, like a soldier about to march to war. This is my mate! He deserves better than thinking ‘okay’ s*x is all he’s worthy of! I definitely won’t be anywhere near as good as the other women he’s been with. But determination has to be worth something, doesn’t it? “Let’s do this! We are going to have s*x right now!” I pointed at his bed, lifting my chin up and clenching my teeth together. He chuckled, cupped my cheeks, and pecked me on the lips. His beard ticked as his lips lingered, hovering over mine. A shiver went through me, down to the bone. He pulled away, still cupping my face. “No.” “What do you mean, ‘no’?” I scowled at him. “You don’t smell ready.” He whispered, his thumb brushing my cheek. I pursed my lips together, my eyes going wide. “I am ready! Let’s do this, let’s get into bed!” I snapped my mouth shut before finishing the sentence with ‘and get this over with’. “Alright then. I’ll accept your enthusiasm. Tell me, what would you like me to do?” He raised a brow. My stomach twisted into knots and my mouth flailed open and closed. The butt of the joke dawned on me. He wants me to tell him what to do to me in bed? A choking sound escaped me, and I could’ve sank into the floor. That’s what he meant earlier? He thought I’d what, command him in bed? “See? Not ready. You smell scared.” He planted a kiss on my forehead, and I scrunched it up. “I know you’re not scared of me. It’s been a long two days. And we barely know each other. I don’t even know your favorite color or your favorite meal.” He frowned at me with a genuine look of concern. Like not knowing such simple things truly bothered him. “Green.” I whispered, and tensed as the word left my lips. It had always been purple. But looking into his eyes, I knew it would always be green from then on. “What a coincidence. Mine’s always been blue.” He murmured and tucked stray hairs behind my ear. My heart fluttered, and he grinned like he’d heard it. “I’m serious though. We don’t have to wait. If you want to…” I glanced at the bed. He pursed his lips, his brows knitting together. “Do you want to? For you, not because you think I want to, or that I’ll be upset or disappointed.” I grunted, not daring open my mouth. I knew the wrong thing would come out. I wasn’t sure what I wanted. If I said yes, I knew there’d be strings attached he could smell. But if said no, that’d be even more insulting. “I want our first time to be good, memorable. Special. I don’t want to do it just because you feel like we have to.” He murmured, still brushing my cheek with his thumb. I softened against him. I allowed my weight to lean on the counter behind me. All the knots in my tummy detangled. He was genuine. Something about his voice, the way his eyes softened, I could tell. He wanted to get to know me, to get to know us. It was like a massive weight had lifted off my shoulders. I sighed in relief, not realizing just how nervous I’d been. “Thank you.” I smiled up at him, and nearly drew him into a hug. But a familiar mischievous look crossed his face, and his eyes gleamed. He leaned down, lowering his hands around my hips. His lips brushed the crook of my neck, where it met my shoulder. I stilled as he traced his lips up my neck, my heart fluttering. I spread my hands out over his chest, my head dipping back. “I’m a patient man. I’ll wait till you beg for me to touch you.” he whispered, his breath tickling my sensitive skin. My breath hitched in my throat, my heart pounding. “And it’ll give you time to think about what exactly you’ll beg me to do.” He nipped right below my ear, mirroring where I’d marked him. I nearly jumped out of my skin. My vision blurred, my n*****s hardened, and between my legs grew wet. I dug my fingers into his chest, trying to hold myself up. If he wasn’t pinning me to the counter, I would’ve plopped into a puddle on the bathroom floor. He pulled away from me, looking mighty proud of himself. If I had my wits about me, I would’ve scowled at him. All I could manage was stop myself from whimpering. “I’m going to shower now.” “Okay.” I squeaked out and scowled at the sound of my own voice. He squeezed my hips, peeled away from me, and sauntered to the shower. Someone, I managed to throw myself out the bathroom, closing the door behind me.
