Chapter Four

1305 Words
A black sports car drove into the Brown family mansion. As the car came to a halt, Melanie got out of the driver's seat to pull open the door for Kyla to step out. On the landing of the grande stairs, May was standing there with a smirk on her face. “Oh my, what are you doing here early this morning sister?” May said in a mocking tone but she only got ignored by Kyla who walked past her like she wasn't there. Stepping into the large living room, she could see her father seated with her stepmother and Taylor also present. “There she is.” Her stepmother, Rowena, stood suddenly, rushing towards her before landing a slap across her face. “You ingrate.” She spat angrily. “Calm down, mother.” May rushed over to her mother's side, acting all nice and sweet. “You'll hurt your health if you yell. She doesn't deserves your stress.” “She can die for all I care.” Kyla said loud enough for them to hear. “Don't you talk to your mother that way, Kyla.” Her father scolded but she just ignored him while walking over to sit opposite him with Melanie standing next to her. “You sent for me, father?” She asked. “What's wrong with you, Kyla? What is the meaning of this?” He asked, flinging the divorce papers she had left for Taylor towards her. Her eyes fell on the papers before leaning into her seat. “Oh this? I'm getting divorced. Do you have a problem with it?” “Taylor has done a lot of things for you and this is what you repay him with? You ungrateful brat.” Rowena thundered angrily but she just got ignored by Kyla who was still staring at her father. “If that's all you called me for, I should take my leave then. I don't want anything to do with a boy referring to himself as a man who can't take a divorce well.” Kyla mocked as she rose from her seat. “Don't you dare walk out on me, Kyla.” Her father thundered angrily, making her stop in her tracks. “Before you scold me, ask Taylor what he was doing with your illegitimate daughter in my home while we were still married? I can accept everything but cheating on me. I am not a fool who can be taken for granted.” “What are you talking about, Kyla?” May started the waterworks. “How could you think like that? I am your sister, I would never do something so unspoken of to you.” “Yes, how dare you accuse my daughter of your own insecurities? Taylor is right here, don't accuse him wrongly.” Rowena butted in. Kyla turned to look at Taylor who was staring right at her like they were right which made her thrwo her head back in laughter. “Oh Taylor , I'm so sorry.” She scoffed, getting on her knees mockingly. “I didn't know I made a mistake and you aren't using me just for your gains in the White industry. I didn't know I made a mistake by accusing you of giving me zero penny from everything I earned from my hardwork. I'm sorry for speaking up when I saw you having s*x with my freaking father's mistake in our room after all these years of devoting myself to you.” Standing up angrily, she stared at her father intensely. “I don't care what you want to do about them? I don't care what you will do to me. Disown me, take away everything I have under your name. I will never go back to him. I've signed those divorce papers and from this…” She picked up the papers. “Good, he's signed it. I don't belong to him neither do I belong to you, Mr Brown .” Without saying another word, she turned to leave. Melanie bowed to them respectfully before leaving the shocked four there staring at their backs as they left the room. After they left, they finally shook out the daze. “Taylor nard, I will make sure to talk to her. It's not to late to call off…” “No need, Mr Brown . You want me to marry into yorh family right, then I'll just marry May instead. Let's make the wedding three months after our divorce is officially announced.” He said, leaving a smile on May's lips. 'I win, Kyla.' In the hotel room, turning in bed, Hugo opened his eyes slowly with a low groan. “She left, again.” He mumbled before throwing his feet down the bed. “Master Ray.” A voice made him look up from his sulking position. “What is it?” He groaned, pushing himself off the bed. “You have to visit the headquarters today. It's important.” His assistant, Bryce informed him making him nod gently before heading towards the bathroom. He looked at his reflection in the mirror with a slight smirk on his face as he remembered the events of the previous night. “I'm not letting you go this time around, Rose.” He mumbled. “What is it this time, Melanie?” Kyla groaned as he brought out her face from he roillow where she was busy blushing while thinking about what had occured the previous night. Her idle was of starting the day after that event wasn't to have a meeting with her father but she was being interrupted by Melanie again with slem duties “Mr Cha sent a request for your appearance at the headquarters today. It is important in order to plan for your big debut at Phoenix entertainment.” Melanie informed her. “I am just doing all this to spite Taylor and White industry. They should know that already.” She groaned. “Then you have to work towards spiting them.” Melanie reminded her. Walking towards the elevator in Phoenix entertainment industry's headquarters, everyone around was looking in her direction. There was no way she could escape the attention even if she was to be in a disguise. “Welcome, Miss Brown , am I right?” Mr Cha said as she stepped out of the elevator. “News spread so fast within the higher-ups.” Kyla faked a smile towards him, making him chuckle. “Our CEO arrived recently and he requested to specially meet you this morning to give to you personally the lead role of the movie I spoke about with Melanie.” Mr Cha informed her, making her nod. Leading her towards the CEO's office, she was engrossed in the explanation Melanie was giving to her about the role and didn't realize they had arrived at the office. “You have to go alone. Mr Green hates having visitors except the person he personally requested form.” Cha informed them, looking back at Melanie who looked uncertain for a second. “No need to worry about me, Melanie. It's nothing.” Kyla patted her shoulders before walking into the office without even giving a knock. She stepped into what could only be defined a dark haven. Everything was black with only a few touches of gold here and there which made her wonder who exactly the CEO was. “I didn't expect us to meet this quickly after what happened last night.” A hoarse voice made her turn in the direction of the voice and she could see a figure standing in the dark part of the room. She recognized the voice eve n though she was drunk when she listened to it. “Y-you?! What are you doing here?”
