Chapter 4.

332 Words
The rest of the day passed in a blissful haze of stolen kisses, shared laughter, and the lingering heat between them that neither could resist. By sunset, they found themselves back by the pool, the sky ablaze with shades of orange and pink. Savannah leaned against the edge of the pool, her legs floating lazily in the water as Logan swam closer, his intense gaze never leaving her. “You know,” she teased, running a hand through her damp hair, “I was supposed to be house-sitting, not getting swept off my feet.” Logan smirked, resting his arms on either side of her, trapping her between his body and the pool’s edge. “Swept off your feet, huh? I like the sound of that.” She rolled her eyes playfully, but her heart betrayed her, pounding hard against her chest. “What’s your story, Logan? Why are you really here?” His smirk faded into something more serious. “Needed a change. Left the city behind to clear my head. Didn’t expect to find something worth staying for.” Savannah swallowed, her pulse quickening. “And now?” His eyes softened as he leaned in, his voice low and sincere. “Now I know I don’t want to leave. Especially not without you.” Her breath hitched as his lips brushed hers, slow and lingering. She melted into him, every kiss deepening the connection between them. When they finally pulled apart, she whispered, “I wasn’t looking for this... but I don’t want it to end.” “It doesn’t have to,” Logan promised, pulling her into his arms as the stars began to twinkle above them. “Stay with me.” Savannah didn’t need to think twice. She cupped his face, smiling softly. “I’m not going anywhere.” And as the night wrapped around them, filled with whispered promises and lingering touches, both knew this wasn’t just a fleeting summer romance—it was only the beginning.
