Chapter three-Rogue

1292 Words
Jyra’s POV “Look on the bright side…” I rolled my puffy eyes and sighed. “What bright side, wolf?” “Now that you are officially a rogue, you are famous. In ten to fifteen years, pips would be taught about you in camps and during haunt sessions .” “I will become an epitome of shame to the younger ones.” I spat out, my voice trembling. I pulled out a weed from the grass and inhaled it, using the fresh smell of herbs to calm myself down. “Not really. Some would see you as a hero, who fought for what she wanted but the system was against her.” “True, not everyone believes the bad guy was always a bad guy.” “Yep. You need to find shelter, night is coming in slowly.” I huffed loudly and laid my back on the ground, using my back and hands to scratch on the grass. “Run to where? There is no other pack around. This is our new home.” My heart bled out internally. This was not how my life was supposed to end. I was supposed to be married, in love and happy; this is the direct opposite. “This cannot be your new home. You are just lost in the woods. No shelter or food.” “What am I supposed to do? You are not helping either, just pointing out the things that look too bad to be true.” “I was just trying to help?” “It's not helping, Shug your mouth up”. I warned. Stamping my foot in the ground angrily. “Mhmm. You are a spiritual part of me, can you please use your spirituality to find shelter or connect with other packs?” “You just asked me to shut up”. My wolf corrected it, and then I lost it. “Well f*****g talk!”. “Say something!”. I howled into the woods, my voice echoed. “It does not work that way. You are a rogue now, and being pack less means losing your host connection.” “I can't sense them”. “So I cannot be integrated into another pack?” I sat up, dusted my legs and mentally searched for any signs of hope. Nothing. “Unless you connect with aliens, then you can enter their pack.” Seeking help from my wolf was a waste of time, accepting fate felt easier. Just take my soul already “. I cursed. “Take what is left of me…..i’m trying tired”. I hit a tree violently, sobbing loudly. “Why create me alongside so much pain and torment!”. I howled. My wolf held her breath. “Mother..!” “Take me with you”. I yelled to the woods like she was standing in front of me, mucus pouring from my nose, my whole body soaked with tears. After a while the east wind blew west, the night was slowly drawing in and there was still no hope for shelter or food, I was starving, I was weak and exhausted. I paced slowly in all directions, trying to find something but nothing came up till my wolf alerted me. “I hear something!” My wolf jolted me, and I quickly landed on fours. “What is it?” “It is a very different energy but it sounds like shelter and food!” “Does it sound like Humans?” “Heck no! Humans are not this organized.” “Fair enough. What direction is it coming.” “North!!!” With those words, I gathered my last energy and started running, my feet logging from cold and lack of food. I ran as fast as I could, as swift as my body could carry me, three leaps at a time. The night was slowly dawning in, and my breaths were getting shallow. I wanted to stop, my body could not take it anymore but somehow I kept on going. Faith pushed me. After about ten minutes, I started hearing what seemed to be tires screeching on the road. “Can you hear that?” I moved closer and my eyeballs grew large. There was a blinding light from a distance coming from the village that was the glimmer of hope I needed. “What is this place?” I asked my wolf but there was no reply. I moved closer to the village, the smell of fumes and exhaust stench hitting my nose. I saw wolves at one end but they looked different. They had golden fur and they were mostly older. “I think I have heard about this place…” “Oh, now you are replying to me.” I rolled my eyes. “I got tired after all those running.” I furrowed my eyebrows and nodded my head off. “Running now affects inner wolves?” “Probably.” I face palmed myself and looked around. They were different types of aisles and motorcycles parked, in different colours and of different brands. “I thought this place only existed in books?” My wolf was in shock, and I was in total confusion. “Can you tell me about this place? And I thought I could not integrate into another pack?” “This is not a normal pack. This is a pack for reborn wolves, the biker type.” I tried to put what he was saying into meaning, but it made absolutely no sense. “I am lost.” “Mentally or physically?” “Stop being sarcastic and explain what you mean about reborn.” “Just ask this lady…I might be wrong.” I rolled my eyes, and walked up to the lady wolf smoking cigarettes on a bike. She has weird tattoos on her left hand and a sewed up lip. I swallowed hard and summoned up to her. “Hello ma’am…um I think I am lost…what pack is this?” She looked at me disgustingly and exhaled from her cigarette stick. “Rule number one; don’t let anyone know you are not from here. This is a sacred place, only for those that are awake from the dead.” “That is- wow!!!” I covered my mouth speechless. I used to read about wolves coming back to life after death but I never thought it was true. “The myth is true. Reborn wolves have their own pack.” I nodded in understanding but they were something I was not clear about. “But I am not dead, so how come I am here?” “Are you a rogue?” I nodded shamefully, the voice of my former pack leader echoing through my head, when he told me to leave the pack village. “How come rogues can come here?” “Wolves are considered dead, once they are banished from their packs. My head spun. In other words, my twin sister killed me even before I died. I felt weak on my knees, tears drowning my eyes. “How can I fit into this pack?” Maybe this would be my new pack. “If you are here, you have to know how to ride a bike, hop on and test this bike!” “This is my first time-“ I started up the machine and pumped up the acceleration, moving with the wind and just enjoying the ride. It was just like the rollerblading classes I had while growing up. “Wow, you are really good, your skills are unmatched”. She looked at me with so much adoration, and I smiled back.
