Chapter 1

Waking up to the sound of my ringing alarm, I turned over to look at the time. It was 4 am. I groaned and got out of my bed while turning the alarm off.

'Ugh...I hate the mornings. I have to deal with all these people and employees.'

I stretched and changed my pajamas to workout clothes. After changing, I went to the rooftop gym for a workout session.

I worked out for 2 hours, then went back to my room to change out of the sweaty outfit.

After removing my clothes and throwing them in the laundry basket, I wrapped a towel around my body and walked towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and take my shower.

After brushing my teeth, I lay in the bathtub, letting the hot water relax my muscles. 45 minutes later, I was done showering, so I walked into my walk-in closet with a robe on my body to change into my work clothes.

I looked at myself in the mirror

'Damn...I look hot. The only person I will ever be jealous of is myself.' I thought to myself while smirking at my reflection in the mirror.

After checking myself out and feeding my ego, I walked downstairs to the underground garage, to see my babies.

"Well, hello there baby," I said chuckling to myself. I chose my matte black Audi r8 and drove out of my garage heading straight to the massive building in the middle of the city.

Arriving in front of the building, I got out seeing my employees lined up in front of the company waiting for my arrival. I threw the key to the guard who caught it and swiftly got in to park my car. I began walking towards the revolving doors with my PA/Secretary trailing behind me.

With every step I took, the employees greeted me and I just replied with a nod. Before getting into my private elevator, I heard a commotion across the usually silent lobby. Turning towards the source of the disturbance, I saw a man trying to get into the building while the guards were trying to stop him from doing so. I paused my movements and walked towards the man signaling for the guards to let him through.

As the man approached, I recognized him as one of the directors of the board. I raised a perfectly trimmed and shaped brow at him. When he was close enough, he looked at me.

"How could you remove me from the board of directors when I have done nothing wrong, this is unjust. I say, UNJUST." He said screaming at the last part.

I kept silent.

"What? Is the guilt eating you up? Everyone, look at the person you call your chairman, here she is firing dedicated hard workers who do everything in their power to help the company grow" I scoffed staring at him.

"You? Dedicated you say? If you are as dedicated as you say, prove it by showing your contribution to the company. You have been taking the company's money and spending it on gambling, yachts, private parties, and prostitutes. What? You thought I wouldn't find out? Removing you from the board is already me being lenient on you, so get your pathetic self out of this building or so God help me, you will be missing your teeth, d**k, and your limbs" I said to him, whispering the last part in his ear.

After I was done saying my piece, I signaled the guards to take him out then got on the elevator heading over to the top floor where my office was. When I got into my office, I slumped down on my swivel chair.

Massaging my temples, I thought to myself.

'Great way to start a morning. Ugh!'

A few minutes later, my P. A brought me some coffee and briefed me on everything on my schedule today. I nodded and dismissed her with a wave of my hand. When she was out, I immediately engrossed myself in the work in front of me.

I quickly lost track of time and before I knew it, it was already nighttime. Getting up to stretch my back, I walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window and gazed at the nighttime sky. It was beautiful, the lights looking like little stars from a distance, cars bustling all around the busy city, people littered around on the street, and the cool breeze blowing and whispering sweet words in your ear. I let out a sigh. It was so beautiful but I couldn't enjoy it.

I heard the door to my office open and turned around to see my best friend. She immediately slumped on the couch in my office. I rolled my eyes and walked towards her.

"What's up?" She sat up and looked at me with a look that said 'seriously?'

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She didn't say anything and just continued staring at me with a deadpan expression.

We stared at each other like that for a few seconds before my mouth formed an 'o' shape. She copied what I did mockingly.

"I totally forgot. I swear" I said smiling at her sheepishly.

"How? I LITERALLY JUST CALLED YOU 2 HOURS AGO b***h" She screamed.

"Geez! Chile woman. I was busy" I said remembering, the fact that she called me a few hours ago and convinced me to go to the club with her.

"Don't tell me to chill young lady" She chided

"Yes, MOM. Now, let's go. I need to change." I said sarcastically.

I grabbed my purse phone and my keys and headed out of my office with Alexa in tow.
