Jack The lobby of the hotel was a blur of polished marble and ambient chimes as we walked toward the reception desk. Through the glass facade across the lounge, catching my attention. Sitting in one of the low leather chairs was Roman. We had met back in college, instantly clicking, and despite the demanding pace of our lives, he was one of the few people who always had my back. "Will you check us in and grab the keys?" I asked the her, keeping my eyes on the lounge. "I need to speak with a friend." "Sure," she murmured with a quick nod, heading toward the front desk while I walked straight over to Roman. "Hey man. Good to see you here," I said, extending a hand. Roman stood up, his face lighting up with a grin as he shook it. "Good to see you too, Jack. Are you in town on business?"
