Lia's Point of View
While waiting for our orders, I decide now is a better time than any to tell her about Wyatt. She is my best friend. There is no way in hell; I could keep something like this for her. I just hope she doesn't end up hating me for it. I look over to her, grabbing the coffee cups and handing me Paisley's and mine, while she takes hers and Dede's while walking over to a table. I followed, tail tucked between my legs.
"Here goes nothing," Selene whispers, not helping matters.
"Hey doll, mind if I sit and have a word with ya? It's kinda important." I say in a low voice, trying my hardest not to catch the attention of the other customers in the shop.
"Yeah, sure, what's up?" Her smile turns serious, and she sits up on the chair, placing the cups down on the table.
I take a deep breath and sit down across from her and place the cups down. Looking down at my hands, I play with my fingers trying to think the best way to tell my very best friend since childhood that I banged her uncle. Oh my god. She's gonna hate. Then she's gonna kill. Then bring me back to kill me again.
"Lia?" Bea calls my name, pulling me back to reality.
"We slept with Wyatt," Selene breathed out, taking the reins when she realized I was far too nervous to do it on my own.
"You two, what?" Bea raised an eyebrow with an unreadable expression on her face.
"I'm so sorry. I don't even know what I was thinking. Hell, I wasn't thinking. I totally understand if you're mad."
She just looked at me, not saying a word, and I couldn't help but start rambling again.
"I like him, Bea. I really like him. He made me feel things I ain't felt with Xander. But if you want me to stay away. I will. What I feel for him isn't worth losing you over. You mean more than anything to me, and I'll do whatever it takes to fix it. Okay?" I plead.
I was waiting for something from her. Anything. But not the one she gave me.
"Why the hell are you smiling?" I questioned, taken aback by her off-putting reaction.
"Because from the moment I walked into my kitchen last night, I knew. I'm a wolf sweet pea, remember?" I joke lightly since I know how nervous and uncomfortable she is right now.
"So you don't hate me?" I asked, needing to make sure we were in an okay place.
"It's going to take way more than sleeping with my uncle for me to hate you, Lia" I reassure her with a small smile reaching my hand across the table to grab hers.
"Really? So you had me over here about to s**t a brick for nothin', huh?"
She just laughs, shrugging her shoulders.
"I mean, I'm good with y'all getting together. I'm actually surprised that it hasn't happened before now. Don't think I missed all that flirting you two been doing over the years. But, what ya gonna do about Jim and Sara?"
I sighed, looking up at the ceiling of this coffee shop.
"Hmm, do they have to know so soon? That's a bridge we can cross later, that bridge ain't even on our horizon yet." I tried to joke, not wanting my parents to ruin the vibe we had going.
"Alright then, missy, come on, let's go get Wes' suit for graduation before we meet the girls in the salon, and before these go cold,"Bea replied, standing up and motioning to the cups that she had just grabbed.
