Paisley's Point of View Earlier that day I can't believe I graduate high school in just three days. I'm relieved, to say the least, but I wished my parents could have been here. They always pushed me to be the best I can be in everything I do; most importantly, my education. I wasn't very close to any of my classmates, but I had Auggie, Adelaide, Bea, and Lia. It would've been nice to have Auggie in my class, but he was a year ahead of me, and Hannah always made me thankful that he wasn't here. She made my life a living hell throughout school, especially after my parents passed away, and she used her conniving little attitude to try and convince me that Auggie was meant to be hers.  If I was lucky, I could slip past her at school today without any problems, but she seemed to make it her life's mission to make me miserable. Aspen always wanted to rip her dusty little grey eyes out of her head, but I didn't want to cause any unnecessary problems. Auggie always asked me what was going on, and I told him, of course, but that just made him and Asher angry, ready to march up to the school, but I didn't want him to. "Hmpf, look at the mutt that just pulled up," Hannah announced to her group of minions, as I parked my car in my parking spot.  I grabbed my backpack, phone, and car keys and stepped out onto the pavement. I was making my way towards the front entrance when Hannah and her posse stepped in front of me, blocking my path. "Where do you think you're going?" Hannah sneered. "I'm going to class, Hannah, where everyone else should be going. The first bell should be ringing soon," I sighed.  I can defend myself perfectly fine. I could take Hannah and her entire crew if I wanted, but with it just being me on my own, I didn't want to get kicked out of the packhouse. "Such a f*****g goody two shoes," she spat at me. I didn't think she really had the nerve to get into a physical altercation with me, but to my surprise, she stepped up.  "How's Auggie?" she snarked off.  I let out a growl, urging her to back off, as I could feel Aspen clawing her way out with how my eyes shot gold.  "Awe, did I upset the little mutt?" she taunted, referring to Aspen.  "Augustine. You call him Augustine," I replied. I'm the only one that called him Auggie. I gave him that nickname when he saved me. If it weren't for Auggie, I wouldn't have made it out of the house fire that burned down my family's manor.  My parents weren't able to get out of the house, but I was on the first floor when I smelled the smoke. I shouted and howled as loud as I could, trying to get them to come down, but by the time I reached the staircase, it was already engulfed in flames. I didn't want to leave them, my family, and my home, but Auggie dragged me out since he was much stronger than I was. "Get out of my face..." I warned her. My canines were already protruding above my bottom lip.  Hannah thinks she's the 'alpha' b***h of our high school, but she's only a human, and I knew I could really hurt her. That's why I was trying to compose myself the best I could, but she knew just what buttons to push to make me lose my temper. "What the f**k are you going to do about it? Run and tell your mommy and daddy on me?" she started, following it with a sarcastic laugh. "Oh, you can't. You're just a little orphaned mutt. They'd rather die than to be stuck with your worthless ass," she continued.  We were almost nose to nose, and I'm sure she could feel my breath against her face as the anger was pouring out of me. I hurt too, the things she had to say hurt, even though I knew what came out of her mouth was just garbage. I was caught off guard when she shoved me back, causing me to lose my balance on the top step on the school's archway. I knew she spat out hatred with her words, but I didn't think she'd have the audacity actually to touch me. I regained my balance and lunged towards her; I had enough.  I grabbed a fist full of her hair and one of her arms, flipping her over my hip, and I pinned her to the concrete. Adelaide was in charge of training our pack, and luckily I got to spar with her a few times one on one. I let out a guttural growl, and my eyes were fully gold now as I could feel Aspen clawing her way out.  She threw a punch and connected with my jaw, causing my eyes to water. I just held her down, hoping she would submit, but of course, she didn't. She tried to throw me off of her with her legs, and threw another punch, connecting with my side. The next punch she threw, I caught it within my hand, and I squeezed harder, and harder as she cried out, surely fracturing a few bones in the process. She kept fighting, and I finally threw a punch against her flawless, ivory skin.  I b***h-slapped the b***h, making sure to leave a black eye around her emerald green eyes. She cried out as Aspen made her way out further, taking control of my punches. I didn't realize how much I had hit her or noticed the crowd that formed around us either until I felt a sturdy pair of hands wrap around my waist and pry me off of her. "Let me go! I'm not done! This b***h-" I growled out above the chanting from the students around us. "Fight!" "Kick her ass!" "Get off of Hannah," is what they mostly consisted of. "No! That's enough!" I heard Auggie say from a distance.  Wait, why was he here? He graduated last year and didn't come around the school very often unless it was for me. "I called him," said the deep voice behind me, that was confining me from killing Hannah.  I realized that the voice belonged to Tyler, a senior on the football team that took Auggie's place as captain after he graduated. They were a little close, but not best friends. I think Tyler looked up to him as a mentor or an older brother.  "Why the hell did you call him?" I replied.  I don't think Tyler realized the amount of trouble I could genuinely be in. Not just with the school, but Alpha Blackwood, and I was more scared of Alpha Blackwood than the principal by a long shot.  "Kitten... What have you gotten yourself into?" Auggie said, moving through the crowd that dispersed onto the common grounds as teachers were making their way out to see what the commotion was.  He grabbed my hand and guided me towards his truck before pulling me to his chest. His arms moved around me, holding me tight. I always felt safe in his arms, like nothing could ever hurt me when he held me. My tears began to flow freely and soaked into his tight black t-shirt. I wasn't crying from physical pain, it did sting a little but not enough actually to hurt me, but from how much s**t I've had to put up with from her. Her words hurt. My parents were still an open wound, a void that wasn't easy to fill, if it could even be filled at all.  Auggie held me until my tears subsided, and I calmed down. He wiped the leftover tears from under my eyes away with the pad of his thumb before laying a gentle kiss on the top of my head. "Please tell me, kitten. You never fight, and you know the consequences of fighting. I don't want you ever to get hurt," he finished. His face was laced with concern while he patiently waited for my explanation. I let out a sigh before telling Auggie everything that had happened from when I pulled up into my parking spot to know, and he was furious. Asher was present along with Auggie, while his shoulders heaved up and down.  "That f*****g b***h. Moon Goddess, let me take care of this," he said while walking me over to the passenger side of the truck and opening the door. "My car is here, Auggie. I can drive home," I said, pulling my car keys out of my backpack. "It's okay. I'll ask Bryan to come back and pick your car up, let's head home," he replied. I didn't argue with him and climbed up into his truck. The stress from earlier made me tired, and I didn't want to deal with the questions, gossip, and repercussions from my actions. I knew that someone would find out, the girls in the packhouse always checked up on me. I just prayed to Moon Goddess that this wouldn't get back to Alpha Blackwood. Auggie had taken me to lunch on our way back, but it was still early in the day when we got home. I asked him to lie down with me for a little bit before he had to go train, and I had to help out with the house chores.  "I love you, kitten. It'll be okay," he said. "I love you too," I replied before I let sleep drift me away as I was snuggled up as close as I could be to him when he wrapped his arms around me. I woke up an hour later and climbed out of bed. I made my way to the bathroom to brush the sleep out of my mouth before I headed downstairs. There wasn't much I had to do today: pick up and vacuum the living room, sweep the kitchen, and help set up for dinner. I always helped clean after dinner too, but that's my own doing. Mama Blackwood worked hard enough cooking for an entire packhouse, and with how many guys that lived here, that required a hefty amount of food for dinner.  Shortly the time came to round everyone up and wash up for dinner. I went and told Auggie to clean up, knowing he was sweaty from training and that he'd have to help me with dinner. Then I made my way to Alpha Blackwood's office to let him and Bea know we were eating soon. I was still a little nervous that he had known what I had done and swung open the door to Alpha Blackwood's office without thinking about knocking. As soon as I stepped in, I saw him resting himself in between Bea's legs, on top of her. They were heavily making out, he was topless and lifting her shirt up her chest .  I froze with shock; I can't believe I just walked in on my Alpha and Luna. Of course, it's no surprise that they f**k, I mean we have heard them go at it so many times, but to walk in on them about to was a different story. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I couldn't just run away after walking in on that, so I turned around, so I didn't have to see them in that position. My face was crimson red as I felt the heated embarrassment flush my face.  "Oh, Moon Goddess, I'm so sorry, Alpha Blackwood, Luna. Mama Blackwood asked me to come to get you, dinner is ready," I said, leaving the office in a hurry.  "Of course she did," I heard Alpha Blackwood say under his breath as I walked out the door.  I quickly made my way down the hallway and ran into Auggie, who was just coming out of his room. "Woah, what's got you in such a rush?" he asked, c*****g an eyebrow in curiosity. "Umm... I may or may not have just walked in on Alpha Blackwook and Bea getting ready to f**k," I said bashfully. "You what?" he said, leaning over and grabbing his stomach as laughs bellowed out of him.  He grabbed onto my shoulder to keep from falling over; he was laughing so hard. Of course, he would think that's funny. I was close friends with Bea, she was our Luna, but I thought she was like an older sister I never had and one of my best friends, but I would never want to witness that.  "Oh come on, get downstairs before Mama hangs us by our tails," I continued, desperate to change the subject. "It's a nice afternoon out. I thought we could eat outside," Mama Blackwood said when Alpha Blackwood and Bea while Auggie and I were taking dishes from the counter and carrying them outside. Auggie and I sat the dishes on the table and placed them in front of each seat before taking our own and sitting down next to each other. Everyone made their way outside, and Bea sat right in front of me, not taking her eyes off of me. I must have embarrassed her; I was so embarrassed myself I didn't think about how she must've felt being seen by me like that. f*****g awkward. "Hey, sweetie, how was school?" Bea asked me.  I looked over at Auggie nervously. He knew exactly what was running through my head, and I couldn't tell the truth here in front of everyone. He squeezed my hand, silently reassuring me that everything will be fine. I tried to muster up enough courage to tell her, without telling on myself. "This girl from my class Hannah, the one obsessed with Auggie, remember?" I glanced over at Alpha Blackwood quickly and looked over back at Bea, growing more nervous by the minute from his attentive gaze.  She just nodded in response, but I knew she knew exactly who I was talking about because this wasn't the first time I had a problem with Hannah.  "Well, we had a confrontation again today," I say, just barely above a whisper.  I kept my eyes locked on the table because Bea was good at being able to tell if someone was lying, and it was hard for me to lie to her.  "Anything I should be concerned about?" Alpha Blackwood interjected with a c****d eyebrow.  Oh shoot, I'm in for it now. My leg was bouncing anxiously, and my palms began to sweat. He can tell something's up. "No, I'm sure it's just some girl drama, nothing you need to worry about, the girls and I will take care of it," Bea jumped in, surprising me.  She sent me a reassuring smile, and I knew that meant we would talk about this later with Lia and Adelaide. I loved all of them dearly; they always had my back no matter what. "Alright, darlin', you do your Luna thing," Alpha Blackwood finished, giving Bea a massive smile with adoration flooding his eyes.  I knew Bea's parents had died, and she blamed him for it, but from what I saw, for the most part, they loved each other.  Everyone began to pass the dishes around, serving some food on our plates, and having a nice dinner together. I'm thankful for Alpha Blackwood, allowing me to stay here. It really let me to know what having a family felt like again, and I wasn't so broken as I had felt before. We continued dinner with lighthearted and fun conversations, and we enjoyed the rest of our night.
