Adelaide's Point of View

I woke up to an angel, snoring to high heaven like some sort of train runnin' through my master bedroom. I don't think there will ever be a day that this doesn't bring a smile to my face or a flutter to my heart, knowing that this man was made especially for me.

I leaned closer to him, kissing his eyebrows, cheeks, nose, and finally, his lips. Pushing forward to intensify the kiss, Kai's body started to respond, his arms came forward and wrapped around my naked body, pulling me close to him.

"I swear to the moon goddess sweetness if you ain't waking me up to make love I'm fixing to spank that ass."

I giggled into his chest and kissed the chiseled pecs that my face was smooshed against and bit down on the flesh, looking up at Kai's eyes that were still closed. They flew open and focused down on me with irritation

"f**k woman! You sure know how to rile me up!" He rolled over and checked the clock on the nightstand and sighed. 

"It's 430am sweetness, can't we sleep until the alarm goes off, just once? One time?" He tried to roll back over and immobilize me by wrapping his arms around me, so my arms were pinned to my sides, he closed his eyes again.

"He wants to play," Gaia growled into me. I agreed and grinned.

Kai and Kronos smiled wickedly and raised their hand landing with a sharp sting to the other cheek, and Gaia purred into my chest, "Yes!" 

Kai pushed forward, and I could feel him rubbing across my p***y, feeling my wetness before pulling back and pushing into my center. Kai growled as he pulled back on my hips, sinking as deep as he could into me. The exquisite fullness filled my soul as he started pumping harder and faster. My eyes started to roll back as I felt my orgasm begin to build. Kai spoke into my ear in a half growl.

"Well, I guess it's time to get up then, can't have our new trainer late for practice, right?"

I jumped up and went to the closet to grab clothes for our run this morning. Kai was slower to get out of bed. He was never a big morning person, though, so it wasn't a surprise. 

"Baby, will you grab my watch from the bathroom for me?"

"Of course, honey." I walked into the bathroom and grabbed the watch off the counter and turned around and walked back into the bedroom to Kai dressed in his running clothes, down on one knee with a ring box in his hand. I dropped his watch on the floor, and my hands went to my face.

"Oh moon goddess Kai baby, what is that?"

"Adelaide Mae Lavonair, my incredibly beautiful, fiery woman, I am so blessed to have found you, and you bring so much joy to my life. I am not a man of many words, but I hope you know and understand the love that I hold in my heart for you. Will you make me the happiest man-werewolf on the whole planet, and become my wife." 

I ran forward and tackled Kai to the floor, landing with a loud thump, I squealed and started kissing him all over his face.

"YES! Are you stupid or somethin'? You know I'm crazy, right? Too late now, buddy, you're stuck with me!"

"Sweetness, let me up so I can finish this and put the ring on your finger."

"Oh, ya!" I scrambled up and tried to compose myself. I stuck out my hand and thought my eyes might pop out of my head when I set eyes on the ring. 

"Moon Goddess, Kai, what the hell is that?!" I could feel the tears pooling in my eyes, and they started to stream down my face.

"What?! Is it not big enough? Do you not like it? Do you want to pick something else?"

I started to laugh like a crazy woman through my tears as he put it on my finger a look of concern plastered across his face,

"Baby it's beautiful, and no, I definitely don't need something bigger, if you get me anything bigger, I might not be able to walk because of the weight."

A look of pride rolled across Kai's face, I wiped the tears from my cheeks on the back of my sleeve, and he stood and pulled me into his arms.

"Well, we better get going before everyone beats us to the training grounds."

We started to walk down the stairs to the kitchen to make coffee before training.

8 Mile runs were the perfect amount. Enough of a sweat, but not enough to disable your body for the rest of the day. I could hear Wes and Kai behind me talking about Wes' midnight rendezvous with Bea and how she kicked his ass to the curb afterward. 

"Good girl. Makin' him work for it." Gaia approved of Bea's decision.

"I can hear you grinnin' up there about Wes getting kicked out sweetness; I don't gotta see your face to know," Kai said through the mind link.

"Well, what do you expect? I can't help it if I think that sometimes Weston needs to be taken down a peg or two and reminded that he needs her, that she brings balance to his life, there is a reason there needs to be an Alpha AND a Luna, Kai, one cannot exist without the other. We are just lucky they haven't rejected each other out of spite yet." I responded.

"You, my love, are starting to sound like my Mama. All wise and shit." I could hear the grin in his comment.

"Well, thank the lord, I would walk over hellfire to be as wise as that woman, and I hope to be as amazing as she is one day." I spat back.

"Gettin' all crotchety like a grandmama too, I see." Kai tried to provoke me.

"Kai, I swear to the goddess, you take that back right now, or I will pause this whole run just so I can kick your ass in front of the whole training group. Don't test me." I tried to put a tone of seriousness in my voice, even though I knew he was going to see right through it.

"Sure, you don't want me to spank that ass like this morning?" Kai said in a mocking tone. 

I shot my eyes back at him, and he raised his hands in surrender. We were nearing the cleared training ground, and I slowed the group to a walk to cool down everyone's muscles. 

"Okay, everyone, we are going to pair off and start with take-downs. Wes, you're with me, Lia, you're with Paisley, Wyatt, and Augustine, and Bea, you're with Kai." I paired off the rest of the group, and everyone found space in the training area.

We started with basic take-downs at the beginning, I could tell Wes was off his game, no doubt because he rolled in the hay in the middle of the night.

"Come on, alpha, get your s**t together, this isn't high school." The teasing had always worked in the past, but I started to see the exhaustion in his face.

"Wes, you need to fix this s**t with Bea, it's starting to take a toll on your body and mind. I could have taken you down it like six times in the past 10 minutes alone." 

"Don't you think I realize that Dede? She drives me insane, it's like when we are together or f*****g we are perfectly in sync. Then there is a switch that goes off in her brain and BOOM she's cut off from me, the wall goes up, and we end up parting ways in a fight, or frustrated, or worse, she becomes completely indifferent towards me." I could see the pain in his face as we sparred, and the pain was a mental block for him.

I saw my opportunity and took out his lower body, his body hit the mat hard, and I climbed on his chest and held his chin up to signify that I won the match with his throat exposed. He tapped my arm to admit defeat, a look of disappointment in himself spread across his face. I could hear a growl from Bea behind me. I cut my eyes back to her.

"Do I need to come over there and help you train as well as Luna Beatriz?" I got up and started to walk towards her; Kai prepared to take me down in case things went too far, I would not be disrespected on my first official day as a trainer. I had unofficially been leading the training for years, but since receiving the title, I felt a sense of pride and felt a need to protect my title, even if it was from the Luna. 

"You may have bested my mate, but don't think for a second that you don't need some work on your technique. Mind your business; maybe if everyone in this group weren't so busy f*****g and gossiping, I wouldn't need to be so critical of your fighting." I stood up, and she backed down from the argument.

I respected her as my Luna, but the woman had a temper that clouded her judgment sometimes. For the most part, she was fair, and just when it came to matters surrounding the pack and its members. Still, she could be so back and forth about Wes, I was in no position to judge, her loss was significant, and both I and Gaia agreed that he needed to work for forgiveness. Still, it had been many years and the mental strength, and the emotional growth that Wes had accomplished was tremendous, but she refused to acknowledge it because her hurt was clouding her mind, and as we all knew very well, clouded judgment and a big ego could mean the loss of life in our pack. That being said, it wasn't my place to comment, I could control training, but I would leave the heavier conversations to Mama Blackwood, I held my tongue.

I cut the training short, so the girls and I could get ready for dress shopping, everyone needed something new to wear for our baby girl Paisley's graduation. Kai and I had spoken about it and had decided that we would pay for the dress as a gift for her graduation. We were so proud of her and everything she had overcome since the loss of her family. I picked out a new outfit for shopping after a long hot shower. 

I walked down the stairs and found Kai on the front porch with a tall glass of sweet tea, sitting in his rocking chair, looking out at the front yard. He smiled as he saw me walk out through the screen door, I walked over and climbed into his lap, and he wrapped his big arms around me.

"Well, don't you just look like the most content old man in the whole universe right now, sitting here in your rocking chair ready to yell at some kids for being too loud." I giggled into his chest.

"Well why wouldn't I be content, I have the love of my life sitting in my lap, and she has agreed to marry me. I have a glass of sweet tea, and it's a beautiful day out. What is there to complain about?"

"Moon Goddess, I love you so much."

"Are you gonna tell the girls about our engagement today?" He asked with a questioning gaze.

"No. I don't want to take away from the baby girl's day. I'll tell them after graduation. No one has commented about my ring yet anyway, I'm not hiding it, but I'm not going to take the spotlight off of Paisley." I held my hand up and looked at my ring sparkling next to my other rings, of silver and turquoise.

"That's because everyone is too scared to comment on anything about you for fear of their lives." He laughed loudly as we rocked back and forth on the porch. 

"I'm not that scary!" I tried to defend myself.

"To the unknowing eye, maybe, sweetness. However, you put the Alpha down hard today and stood up to the Luna when she tried to question you, and that is not the first time either, every single man in this pack is terrified you will rip their balls off, and every woman is scared shittless about being on your bad side," he said matter of factly as he looked out at the horizon.

I could hear the bass from Bea's vehicle coming down the road, and I looked up to see them pull up to the front of the house, windows down, and music pumping.

"Well, that's my cue sugar pie." I got up from his lap. 

Kai pulled his wallet out and took a stack of bills out, and handed it to me. I flipped through them; they were all hundreds. Probably five grand at least.

"Don't forget to pay for the baby girl's dress, and put the rest in her card for grad." 

"Done! Thank you, baby." I leaned down and kissed him on the lips letting out a little moan as I did it.

"Get out of here woman, or we will be putting on a pretty risky show for those girls right here on the porch." He smiled as I folded up the cash and put it in my wallet. I giggled at his comment as I walked down the front steps towards the SUV.

"Bye, baby, I love you!"

"I love you more, sweetness."
