Serena’s POV-
I need to tell Alice. How can I tell her something like this? She will have to start her Alpha training and take the title in 4 years. How am I going to do this?
“Hey Mom, hi Luca. Is everything okay?” Alice asks.
“Sweetheart can you go to living room right now? I need to talk to Luca really quick.” I add.
Alice heads to the living room and starts to watch a movie.
“How am I supposed to tell her?” I ask Luca frightened.
“I’m not sure Luna. She has to know either way.” He replies.
I wave my hand to dismiss him and walk to the living room. Alice sits there so content and it hurts to think I have to break this news to her. I sit beside her and get her attention.
“Alice, we need to talk sweetheart, it’s important.” I say.
Alice replies excitedly, “Is dad home?”
My eyes start to swell with tears and my throat burns from swallowing them back.
I reply with a small whimper, “No honey, dad isn’t coming back..”
“What do you mean? Where is he? Is he okay?” Alice replies holding back tears as well.
“Your father is gone Alice. He died in the fight.” Tears now streaming down my face.
I fear that she will never forgive herself. I told her to wait and not to look for him. What have I done?
Alice’s POV-
After mom tells me about dad I immediately run to my room. I can’t talk to her about this right now. Dad can’t be gone. He just can’t.
Dad is gone? Now what? What does that mean for me? What am I going to do?
“Sweetheart?” I hear my mom through the door.
I stay silent, I can’t talk to her right now.
My mom starts to talk again, “Hunny, you need to start training.” I can tell she’s trying to fight back tears as she says it.
“Training for what?” I ask with a whimper.
Mom clears her throat and says, “You are the new Alpha, I can take care of things for now but once you turn 16 you will take the title.”
My heart drops to my stomach and I can’t hold back my tears any longer.
What?!? Me?!? I can’t become the Alpha. What training do I have to do? I can’t do this right now. Not without dad.
I can hear my moms footsteps fade away and I lay still on my bed. Thinking back to the memories of dad and I.
