Rodney is talking on the phone when I approach. He senses me coming to him and tries to immediately finish the conversation he’s in the middle of having. I shake my head, motioning him to just continue. It seems important. He ends the conversation after a couple of minutes.
“My apology Alpha King,” he says, looking stressful.
“What’s going on?” I ask, waving his apology off. “And please don’t call me Alpha King. I’m your brother-in-law, call me Boone. Now tell me what’s going on? It sounds bad.”
“My house was broken into last night,” Rodney says, shaking his head in disbelief.
