The Coffee House

"I've seen it so many times now, but still, it fascinates me," said Advika.  "Let's go to the Coffee House," said Ray. "Ya, we need to talk," said Tej. Zarna put her arm around Advika's shoulders as they began walking towards a car parked on the roadside. Ray sat beside Tej, who was driving the car. The girls sat in the backseat. They reached the Cafe after an hour. Tej parked the car in the Cafe's parking space which was surrounded by many trees. Advika took in the fresh air it had the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. She heard the leaves rustle and looked at them, smiling. Maya slightly raised her hand in the air and closed her eyes, feeling the breeze touch her skin. "Guys, I don't think this is the place to be doing what you're doing," said Ray. "Yes, let's go inside," said Tej as he walked towards the wooden gates of the Cafe. A large board hung at the entrance of the Cafe. The Coffee House, it said. It seemed more like an ancient, two-storey house than a cafe. Zarna headed upstairs and looked around. Almost all the tables inside were occupied. "There, our usual place," said Maya as she pointed to a round table kept in the corner of the balcony. They made their way towards it and sat on the chairs. Maya was wearing an off-white full sleeves top and black jeans to go with it. She had tied her curly hair into a bun. The white studs in her ears complemented her look. She had a wheatish complexion and dark black eyes. Zarna, on the other hand, wore a blue blouse top and skinny jeans to go with it. She had left her long hair open. She had a fair complexion and brown eyes. "I've given the order, let's go," said Advika to the boys. Advika, Tej, and Ray headed upstairs towards the balcony. Advika sat next to Zarna, followed by Ray and Tej. Advika's black wrap top and blue jeans complemented her wheatish complexion. She removed her specks, kept him on the table, and tied her shoulder-length dark black hair into a bun. The kohl in her eyes made her almond-shaped eyes look bigger. Tej was the tallest in their group and was an athlete. He preferred to keep his black hair short. Ray, on the other hand, had voluminous hair, parts of which he had dyed golden, that made him look even fairer than what he already was. He was even slimmer than any of the girls in the group. Ray took a big bite of the sandwich as Tej put a handful of fries in his mouth. The girls exchanged a look, nodding their heads. "What? We're hungry," said Ray. "We could try practicing those things again," said Advika as she picked up the sandwich. "Yes, with a full dedication this time," added Zarna. "I wonder why the book choose you?" said Maya and looked at Tej. Tej ran his fingers through his hair and pursed his lips. "And you going to that ancient library was a surprise," added Maya. "He was following Sara," said Ray and playfully punched Tej's arm. "What? Seriously?" quizzed Zarna and giggled. "Okay, I had a crush on her, but that's not important," said Tej. "Wait," said Advika. "What was Sara doing there?" "What do you mean? It's a library people go there to read," said Maya. "It's an ancient library," said Advika. "I've been there too, people interested in history or occult come there. You only get historical or supernatural books there." "Well, I didn't see which book she was reading," said Tej as the waiter came with a tray in his hands. It had five cups of hot coffee, five cheese sandwiches, and french fries with ketchup. "Thank you," said Advika to the waiter as she picked up a cup of coffee and felt the warmth of the cup. "Of course you didn't see what she was reading, because you were busy admiring her beauty," said Ray and winked. "Shut up," muttered Tej. "Oh no," said Maya and dug her head in the menu card. "What happened?" asked Zarna and looked around. "I have to run, guys, I'll see you in the parking," said Maya and grabbed Advika's scarf. "What the..." said Advika as Maya wrapped the scarf around her face and sped downstairs. "Whom is she running-" said Ray and stopped mid-sentence. "I've got to run too," he said and rushed downstairs without looking back. "s**t! He's here," said Zarna.
