C15— Etched In My Memory

1408 Words
~KAEL MORETTI~ Looking at Selene standing naked under the dim lights of the penthouse, my chest tightened. She thought she knew what she was asking for. She thought if she accepted my terms, if she let me take her dark, rough, and without strings, she could somehow pull a shred of warmth out of me. But she had no idea how hollow I actually was tonight. I was in no state of mind to be gentle with anyone. My blood was still sour from the kill at the club, and my mind poisoned by the sight of Valentina. I stepped into her space, closing the distance until the heat radiating off her bare skin brushed against my suit. I didn't kiss her. A kiss carried a promise I had no intention of keeping. Instead, I reached down, my heavy palm cupping the full, warm swell of her breast. My thumb rubbed roughly over her hardened peak, testing her. Selene gasped sharply, her back arching straight into my touch as a shiver ran down her spine. She didn't shrink away, she pressed closer, challenging me with her eyes. I squeezed the soft flesh in my fist, feeling her heart hammering wildly against my palm, before my hand slid down her hip. I hooked my fingers around the back of her bare thigh, raising her legs up around my waist and holding her in that position. Her arms wrapped around my shoulders, her breath hitching into a low moan as I dragged my thumb up the sensitive inside of her thigh, skimming over her slick, swollen folds. I spread her wetness over her skin, forcing her to feel every ounce of the friction. "Kael..." she whimpered, her hands gripping my shoulders for balance as her hips twitched against my touch. "You said you wanted this," I growled into her ear. "Don't pretend you're fragile now." I worked two fingers deep inside her wet heat, flexing them upward. Her head fell against my shoulder with a trembling moan as I pushed deeper, stretching her out, feeling her inner walls pulse frantically around my hand. I worked her with a steady, unyielding rhythm until her nails dug into my suit jacket and her breath became ragged and desperate. Then I tore my hand away, leaving her slick, aching, and reaching for me. I unbuckled my belt, unzipped my slacks, and let my rigid length out. I pulled her thighs wider, adjusted her against the wall, and drove straight into her in one deep, heavy thrust. Selene screamed, her entire body shuddering against the the wall as my weight pinned her. "Ah...Kael!" My fingers dug into her hips, as I set a fast, heavy pace. The friction was intense and scorching. My shaft slammed all the way inside her, stretching her tight. I ground my hips relentlessly against hers, trying so damn hard to lose myself in the physical sensation and burn out the rest of the world. Selene held onto me tightly, whining into my ear as she arched her back, taking every hard push and meeting my rhythm stroke for stroke. Desperate to bridge the distance between us, She reached up, her hands cupping my face, forcing me to look at her. "Look at me," she panted, her eyes dark and heavy with pleasure. "Kael... look at me." I opened my eyes and looked at her face. And right there, rage hit me. Because looking at her dark eyes and flushed face, all my mind could make up was Valentina and her pathetic voice whispering a 'Thank you'. Why the f**k was I even thinking about her right now? It filled my veins with pure, blinding rage. The fact that her memory was still in my head, ruining a moment with a woman I actually respected was infuriating. "f**k," I growled out, the anger boiling over into raw hostility. I abruptly set Selene’s feet back on the floor, pulling out of her dripping heat so fast she let out a confused gasp. "Kael—?" She panted, unsteady on her feet. Before she could process the shift, I grabbed her by the waist, spun her around, and slammed her chest down flat over the edge of the mahogany dinning table. I pressed my broad hand flat against her upper back, pinning her down against the cold wood. No face-to-face closeness. No looking into her eyes. No soft illusions. I grabbed her dark hair in my fist, pulling it back hard to arch her spine, and rammed straight back inside her from behind. She let out a sharp, breathless cry, her hands clawing at the polished desk as I established a violent, punishing rhythm. Every thrust was loaded with dark frustration. I pounded into her, using her tight, wet heat to break the memory of Valentina. I wanted to smash her out of my head until there was nothing left. "Yes... f**k, Kael! Harder!" Selene choked out, her head thrashing against the wood, her body shaking as she pushed her hips back to meet every brutal strike. She wasn't pulling away. She was accepting the turn, matching my sudden aggression with her own deep need, her inner muscles gripping me tightly with every heavy thrust. "Get out of my head," I growled under my breath, my voice thick with dark rage, thrusting into Selene so hard the heavy desk rattled against the floorboards. She sobbed out in pleasure, her internal walls violently contracting around me as a wave of intense climax tore through her whole body. Her tight, pulsing heat clamped down hard around my length, pulling me straight over the edge. I gritted my teeth, buried myself as deep as I could go, and poured into her with a low, primal roar of pure release. We stayed like that for a moment, my heavy chest resting on her damp back, both of us breathing raggedly into the quiet penthouse. Slowly, I pulled out of her. My anger growing weaker, leaving behind a hollow, bitter exhaustion. I stepped back, fastening my slacks. I remained calm, but my chest was filled with guilt. I had just used the one woman who cared about me as a weapon to smash another woman's memory out of my head. Selene stayed pressed against the dark mahogany, her chest still heaving, her skin flushed and glistening under the lights. She looked wrecked. Beautifully wrecked, but exposed in a way that made a sharp knot tighten in my throat. I picked up her red dress from the floor, stepped forward, and draped it gently over her bare shoulders. She slowly pushed herself up, leaning back against the edge of the desk. She pulled the silk fabric across her front, her dark hair wild, her eyes searching my face with a quiet, devastating intensity. "I can tell you're angry," she murmured, her voice soft as she brushed a damp strand of dark hair from her cheek. "It made the s*x intense. Honestly, the best I've ever had, Kael... but I'm not stupid. Something is tearing you apart inside. You growled 'get out of my head.'" I stilled, my hands resting on my belt buckle for a long beat before I met her gaze. "I found Valentina." The room went dead silent. Selene’s fingers tightened on the red silk. The air in the penthouse shifted instantly from post-s*x heat to a cold, suffocating weight. "Valentina... as in Monroe? Rudolf Monroe’s daughter?" she asked and i nodded. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked, after another beat of silence "No, Selene," I said. "You just got back. Go get some rest in the bedroom." I turned toward the bar, reaching for the crystal decanter and pouring myself another drink. But as I heard her soft footsteps move toward the hallway, I paused, looking back at her. "Selene." She stopped near the exit, turning her head at the sound of my voice. "Don't let me do that to you again," I said softly. "I can't give you what you're looking for. I don't have a heart left to offer, and if you keep trying to find it, I'll only end up tearing you down with me." She stared at me for a long moment, a sad, knowing smile touching her lips. "I know you think you're empty, Moretti," she spoke. "But a girl can hope."
