The next morning arrived rudely, dragging sunlight across my face like it had a grudge against my soul. I blinked blearily at the ceiling, absolutely certain that five more minutes of sleep would’ve fixed my entire life. Too bad life didn’t care. I sat up with a groan, my hair in a frizzed halo of betrayal. My phone buzzed beside me. Maya: “I’m outside.
