Chapter 5

I really started being so mad at Darkin this past few days because he is always trying to annoy me in little things but he is nice tho, even if he always stares at me mockingly and sometimes intimidating.

And earlier I couldn't deny that he really is so determined to invite me base on the looks on his eyes, and I can really say that he is the reason why I said yes at the end.

"Stop it Aki. Ethel is just too nice to say no to us." Deborah said to cut Aki from whining.

I cleared my throat so that I can start talking to Darkin. He immediately glance at me when he heard me.

"Uh, Darkin, what foods did you bring?" I ask awkwardly just to try opening a conversation with him because he is so silent since earlier when Justin started to drive.

"Uh, just some snacks. Do you want to eat something? I can go back in the mansion and get some." He said with a attentive but in a cold voice.

I immediately shake my head.

"No, no. It's okay. I was just asking. I want you all to enjoy." I answered and I think it was already out of the context.

"Uh, okay." He said before looking away.

He is not really buying it.

When we arrived in the river I didn't know that there is a little cabin near the place. When Darkin and I came here before I didn't see this.

They immediately place the foods in the cabin's table.

"This place still owned by Lauchengcos so we need to be careful so that we can not destroy anything." Darkin announced to his friends.

Now I am slowly seeing this part of him. He is the mature one from their group. Maybe he is just too playful with me, I hope he will not tease me this time.

When they finally done arranging the things they brought Justin immediately run towards the river and position himself in a big rock so that he can jump higher.

I burst out in laughters when I saw the other joining, running and following him happily. They are so chaotic and funny.

"They are so cute." I uttered while watching them.

"Do you like Aki?"

My brows furrowed as I immediately darted my stare towards Darkin beside me who is also watching his friends.

"What?" I ask confusely.

"You said he is cute." Darkin answered with a serious expression on his face.

"I said they are cute. I didn't said Aki is cute. But still you are right. I like Aki, he is kind. I like him but not romantically. I like all of them." I answered casually while still watching them before also look for Darkin's reaction.

"Tss,"

My brows furrowed because of his response. He is just sitting there and watching his friends. Is he not going to swim or go enjoy with them?

"Aren't you going with them?" I ask.

"How about you, are you not going?" He ask back sarcastically that made me almost rolled my eyes.

But I have already decided to be nice with him since he is not pissing me this day but he is here again. Maybe I should ignore him instead.

I didn't replied to him anymore until he also already decided to go with his friends.

I told them that I can't go swim with them since I didn't bring any clothes with me. I am not used of showing a lot of skins like what Darkin girl friends doing. I am sure they are also used of partying in the City.

Darkin also didn't talk to me until we got home. I don't know but it is making me so pissed.

His friends also change first inside the mansion before also decided to finally go home.

"Oh my God Ethel you should join us again next time and bring your two piece, I am sure you are sexy as hell."

I almost got almost choke when I heard what Merriam whispered to me.

"Nah, I am not used of wearing those." I answered while shaking my head.

"Nah, don't worry, if you always hang out with us you will going to be comfortable with it one day." She added before finally standing up.

"Bye Ethel."

"Okay let's go." Darkin said because he will going to drive for them.

"Uh, Darkin, are you going to drive for them? Uh- A-aren't you going to go back here after?" I asked hesitantly because he is not talking to me until now. But it's not that we are always having conversation before but at least he is not as cold as this before.

"Why?" Do you need something?" He ask with curiosity and attentive expression on his face unlike earlier.

"Never mind, it is late. Just drop your friends already." I said that made his reaction became serious again.

I wave my hand before pouting.

Well, it is not that we are so close to worry that he dislikes me.

I heaved a sigh before turning my back from them.

I am the first one who hates him anyway. He is the one who pissed me first, duh.

I immediately go back to my room. I am supposed to cook something for Mama and Papa this night. But I chose to go with Darkin and his friends, but anyways, Mama and Papa are not yet at home.

After a few minutes of staying in my room, I heard a knock from Teresa.

"Ethel, ija. Your father gave me a call and he said they are not going home this night."

I immediately opened the door so that I can hear her clearly.

"Why? Are they going to run some errands again?" I ask sadly.

"Uh, yeah. Sir Fernando said he is also with your Mama. Don't worry, I think they are staying in a hotel because they are waiting for some business partners." Teresa explained so I nodded with a devastated expression.

"I hope they are fine." I uttered.

"By the way, Señorito Darkin is waiting for you downstairs. I noticed that you don't like him that much? Did you two had some fight that made you dislike him?"

My brows furrowed because of what Teresa said.

"It is not like that, Teresa. Me and Darkin are friends. Sometimes he pissed me off but we are totally fine. I think he is mad at me, he is not talking to me earlier." I explained because it is true.

"Why? What did you do that made him mad?" Teresa ask the same question in my mind.

What did I do to him?

"I don't know either. He invited me to join them and I refused because I have something to do but at the end I said yes because I don't want to make his friends feel bad. Aki convinced me and I don't want to say no, I don't want them to think that I am rude." I explained while pouting because I can't find something unappropriate about what I did.

"Hmm, maybe just ask him. Darkin is kind, anyway." Teresa said while nodding.

"Kind? Yeah maybe, but sometimes he is intimidating and there are also times that he is just going to give me some playful expressions to mock me. Tsk."

"You are just imagining things too much. Go downstairs and talk to him." Teresa said while pushing me towards my room's door.

I followed what she said lazily.

I can already see Darkin's feature sitting in the couch.

He immediately lifted his gaze towards my direction when he saw me.

He stood up and walk towards me.

"Hi," He said hesitantly before putting his hands inside his pants pockets.

"Hi? Why did you go back? Do you need something? How's your friends?" I ask confusely.

"You asked me earlier, right? If I will go back, so I am here." He said almost rolling his eyes.

"I didn't told you to go back. I was just asking because you are not talking to me the whole day." I said, irritated.

"Why would I talk to you if you don't like my presence there." He reasoned out and also sounds irritated.

"What? I didn't said that." I answered confusely.

"But you are making me feel that you don't like me. The first time we met, you are always mad at me." He said now in a determined voice to create and argument.

"What? Because you are so bossy and always mocking me."

"I always try to mock you because I don't know how to respond to your attitude. I don't know if it is really your attitude or you are just being like that to me because you don't like me. Earlier when I invited you, you refused. But when Aki invited you, you immediately said yes. That is so-"

"Because I don't want to make you feel bad. You are very determined to invite me so I said yes the moment Aki invited me again. It is because of you from the first place, not because oh Aki, idiot." I immediately cut him off.

Maybe I am really being too mean to him. I am too much. But you can't blame me, he is a little bit bossy and arrogant.

"Okay, sorry. You are bossy and keep on mocking on me, but why are you not talking to me the whole day?"

He didn't answer again. He remains silent. I crossed my arms and walk towards him while raising my brows.

"Ah, so you are disappointed because you thought I refused when you invited me and said yes because of Aki." I laughed that made him glared at me.

"Shut up, it is not like that." He said while keeping his expression so serious.

"Okay, then why aren't you talking to me the whole day?" I asked again while raising my brows.

"Uh, so you are not really answering? Okay, then." I said before turning my back from him.

"Tsk,"

"By the way, are you free tomorrow?" I ask again before finally leaving him there.

"Why?" He ask irritatedly but I don't know but he looks cute with that reaction.

I smirk.

"I will buy some ingredients in the market tommorow. I hope you can drive for me." I answered while holding the railings of the stairs. I hope he will say yes.

"What am I? Your driver? Go ask Aki." He said, still irritated that made me burst out of laugh.

"Oh My God, I will consider that as a yes. See you tommorow." I laughed before finally leaving him.

That is a funny conversation with him, confusing at the same time.
