First Fight With The Pack

Chapter 4: First Fight With The Pack Deep into the night, everyone in the palace was asleep, but Onjo couldn’t close her eyes. Her mind kept replaying everything that happened, every danger waiting outside the palace walls. Finally, she got up from her bed and stepped quietly onto the balcony. The cold breeze brushed her skin as she gazed up at the sky. The moon was bright, almost unnaturally so. She heard footsteps behind her. Onjo turned and saw Kiran standing by the doorway. “Why are you still awake, my Princess?” Kiran asked, his voice calm and steady. “I couldn’t sleep,” she replied softly. Kiran stepped closer but kept a respectful distance. “We have a long day tomorrow. You should try to get some rest. I know it isn’t easy… but don’t worry. I and my pack will protect you.” He gave a small nod and turned to leave. When he disappeared into the hallway, Onjo let out a deep breath. “I won’t give up,” she whispered to herself. “No matter what. The fate of the realm depends on me and my pack.” ⸻ The next day, the Lycan pack gathered in the throne room, fully armed and prepared. The atmosphere was tense — not out of fear, but determination. “So… how does this beast look like?” Gae In asked Jayden, adjusting the blade strapped to his chest. Jayden opened his mouth to answer, but Myler stepped in with a serious expression. Myler was one of the strongest in Kiran’s pack. “Eight feet tall,” Myler said. “A monster with sharp teeth and huge claws. Looks like a gigantic werewolf, but way faster.” Gae In’s eyes widened. “That huge? It’s gonna be hard taking it down.” “We’re not taking it down,” Onjo replied, stepping forward. Kiran walked into the center of the room, every eye turning toward him. “She’s right,” he said. “We’re not killing it. We’re saving it.” “Saving it?” Gae In repeated. “There is a young man inside that beast,” Kiran explained. “He was cursed by a wicked witch.” Onjo felt her heart tighten. “Then how do we save him?” “We save him with this,” Kiran said as he pulled out a small glass vial filled with a glowing liquid. Jayden stepped forward. “It needs to be poured directly into its mouth. That’s the only way the curse can break.” Gae In exhaled sharply. “That sounds… risky.” Kiran nodded once. “It is. But we have no other choice.” He tightened the straps on his armor and walked toward the doors. “Let’s go,” he said. And without hesitation, the pack followed.
