Birthday Part 3 - Lexi POV

I wake to a gentle knock on the door, I must have fallen asleep, I get up and make my way to the door checking the time one PM I must have slept about three hours. I don’t need to check who is at the door as I can already smell the sweet mouthwatering scent of Tyler, so much for avoiding him, this is going to be harder than I thought we do spend every day together. “Hang on” I call trying to regain my composure before opening the door. Just be normal Lexi I say to myself, I click the lock undone and push slowly down on the door handle to release the latch I inhale deeply as to try and catch my breath.. “Ty, you alright?” I say opening the door wider to allow him in. “Yeah all good, just checking on you, seemed very distracted at breakfast” he makes his way to the sofa and slumps down into his usual seat. “I’m alright, just wanted some time with my wolf” I respond while closing the door and making my way to the kitchen. “Drink?” I call over “yeah just a water” his voice sounding so inviting and pulling me toward him, I grab a glass of water and set it on the table in front of him and make my way to the opposite sofa. We sit in silence I can feel his eyes on me as I try to not look at him. “I like your new sparkle eyes” he says with a smile “thanks that courtesy of Casey” “I can’t wait to get my wolf” he says while sitting himself up straight “what’s it like, you know having a wolf” “amazing” my sad tone “she didn’t know about Arlo” I pause as I feel his questioning gaze “Arlo had Casey’s brother as a wolf, his name was Jason, I had another dream last night which woke me early hours but it was so different, he said my name it felt so real” a stray tear falls from my eye, i hear Ty get up from the other sofa and I look and stare he’s going to comfort me, he’s going to hug me, it’s hard enough being this close to him but then to feel his physical touch I will lose me mind , I’m frozen in my spot as he slides next to me and takes me in his embrace afraid to breath his intoxicating scent, the little eruptions all over me from his touch, it’s a strange feeling as i start to relax and calm my problems all fading away to nothing. I nuzzle into his neck with Casey excited in my mind and being close to his marking spot. “How is Casey” a gentle soft tone “he loves us” Casey jumping around ecstatically “yes he does but as a sister not as a mate” I respond sadly “you’ll see” Casey bouncing. Obviously I’m not going to tell Ty that Casey is ecstatic because we have found our mate and thriving from it. “She’s doing ok, looking forward to our first shift tonight” I try to be upbeat, “no Lexi” a serious tone coming from Tyler “how is she after you told her about Arlo and how are you, I know today isn’t easy for you, you can’t fool me. Normally you come to me for support but today you pretty much ran from me, so I know you are not fine” gentle but seriousness in his voice I sigh “she didn’t take it that well she retreated for a few hours to have some space, she reckons she can feel Jason which is impossible, she seem ok though we haven’t talked to much but she seems amazing, she’s told me she’s a pure white wolf with gold eyes, her twin Jason the same, gifted to Arlo and myself from the moon goddess, we are ok though Ty, I’m more worried about my Luna ceremony” trying to change the subject as I can’t keep reliving the heartache, I need to give Casey the chance to heal. “You are already the best Luna to this pack you put all their needs above yourself, you have been through so much in life and you come out stronger, the ceremony is just a party for you being great, I know it’s a bigger deal because other pack Alpha and Lunas will be here but they will see how loved you are by your pack. You never know Lex you might find your fated mate, that’s exciting” my stomach is in knots by his words “he’s got to be good enough for you though Lexi, even if he is an Alpha of another pack I will not let anyone mess you around or hurt you, you mean to much to me, but please promise me one thing Lex.. don’t let your new mate come between us I will miss you so much, I can’t imagine not having you in my life everyday” I fight to get my words out, I should just tell him I have my mate, but I can’t he needs to find out for himself if I tell him now it could ruin everything “no one will come between us Ty, I love you, you are my everything” little does he know he is more than just my everything he is my world, more so now I know he is my gift from the moon goddess.

“Anyway” I jump up and shiver at the loss of his touch, “apparently I have got presents to open” I send a wink his way while heading to the door, he gets up and follows me out “yes you do, mum and dad have been waiting for you”

We head down to the betas apartment and Aunt Elaine is in the kitchen making a tea “hello birthday girl, catch up on your beauty sleep” “yeah I did, sorry about this morning aunty I didn’t sleep much last night I was talking to my wolf” I say as cheerfully as possible to not let on that it wasn’t the best first conversation with Casey. “Speaking of your wolf dear, do you still want Me, Damien, Tyler, Logan and Aria at your first shift tonight?” She’s trying to hold back her excitement before I respond “of course aunty I wouldn’t have it any other way” when you shift for the first time you only have your nearest and dearest around for support, it’s not the most dainty process, mainly a lot of pain on the human part as your bones start to break and adjust, I’m not scared of pain though I have had a lot of pain to deal with although it’s mental pain over physical it still hurts, if I can get through what I’ve been through I can definitely get through my shift. Elaine now lunging at me taking me into a tight hug “I’m so honoured you want us there” she say excited but welling up with happy tears “your my family” I say calmly and hugging her back.

We head to the living room just as Damien and Logan arrive “Elaine your son is driving me crazy, please let me put him in the dungeons to contain him” Elaine taking Logan into a cuddle “you will do no such thing to my beautiful baby boy” while pinching his cheek between her fingers “dad doesn’t like my air horn mum” Logan says laughing to himself while Damien rolls his eyes “just wait till he sees his car” still laughing and wiggling his eyebrows up and down “my car” Damien frustration coming through “what have you done to my car” “you’ll see” Logan laughs as he throws himself on the sofa. I love this family they are so relaxed with each other not many other beta sons would get away with the stuff Logan gets up too but Damien can be just as bad as with the pranks, I suppose you can say Logan takes after his dad in that sense. I open my presents all lovely gifts pamper sets, clothes and make up, new stationary as-well with Luna Lexi written on them all very sweet. Damien heads back to the alphas office to carry on with some work he’s preparing all the hand over for me, as from tomorrow I will be starting my proper Luna duties to help me get into the swing of things for when my Luna ceremony is here and it all becomes binded by the moon goddess. Elaine headed off with him as she is planning my Luna ceremony, Logan goes to get changed as he is off to the gym to get some sparing in, he one of the strongest just like his dad and brother Ty. That just leave me and Ty alone again, I turn to leave and say to Ty “I’m going to head to the gym too, let of some steam” “wait” he calls after me “you have one more gift” he hands me a little black box with a black silk bow “wh-what’s this” I say shakily “open it and see, I hope you like it” he says excited. I untie the bow, the box opens and inside is a pink preserved forever rose with a little draw, I open the little draw which has a black lining and stitched wording ‘Forever my Luna’ with a little ring in the centre. He steps closer to me I don’t move I’m just staring at the ring, he takes the ring out of the box and says “this ring is to promise you, I will always protect you, I will always love you my Luna my best friend” he puts the ring on my middle finger of my right hand, it’s a silver band with little wolf engraved and a gold stone, I wrap my arms around him tears in my eyes “it’s beautiful Ty, I love it, I love you, thank you”
