We have all got back to the car Alexander and myself are exhausted the kids were bouncing one ride to the next, stopping at stalls to get candy floss and toffee apples. Overall it has been a wonderful day for their birthday, as we all climb in the car Alexander is finishing his phone call with Beta Damien, Damien and Alexander have been friends since they were young boys, his father was the beta to Alexander’s father so have been bought up around each other, the same as our children Damien has a little boy called Tyler who is four and another little boy called Logan who is one. Alexander sighs as he gets in the car “the one day we go out there’s rouge scents around the border, nothing alarming and Damien says it’s under control but why today” although I’m not worried as we are welcoming to new comers, we are established well enough to add to the pack and if a rouge turns up hungry and alone and not a threat we do not turn them away. Previous rouges we have let in became very loyal to us for giving them a home and a fresh start, rouges become rouges either because they are bad and banished or because they are trying to escape a bad pack, before being allowed into the pack they are assessed to make sure that they will be no harm to our pack, once they have been accepted in they are monitored to make sure they are true to their word, once we are satisfied that they are no harm to our pack they can go about as normal and as any pack member would. Other packs don’t allow that and just attack the rouges straight away and see all rouges as a threat but not us at the sapphire moon pack we believe everyone deserves a chance at life. As Luna I care for my pack and the people within my pack I wouldn’t want any of them to go rouge because of the way they have been treated by us, everybody has a place in our pack and the Alpha and myself will help with things like laundry and cooking, we are not afraid to get our hands dirty. We are almost back to the pack lands now the kids fast asleep in the back of the car, I’ve been so lost in thought on the drive home it went very quickly, I’m excited and nervous to get home to give the children their special present, Alexander set the gift boxes up on the table with a card addressed for them both the will be able to see them as we walk in, they will be excited I mean what kid isn’t excited over an extra present, little will they know is how special it is. Next thing Alexander’s hand come flying across the front of me and I hear his voice alpha toned “brace yourself”..

The car flips through the air it seemed a long time before we hit the ground I turn to look at the children who were sleeping so peacefully now with terror across their face and tears rolling down their cheeks, I look to my right and Alexander is already out the car in wolf form, I hear the howling from our pack echo Alexander must have mind linked for help, I rush out the car sliding through the window that is now smashed as the car is now on its roof, I go to Lexi’s window break away the shards of glass and release her from her car seat and lower her slowly to not hurt her on the broken glass that’s shattered on the floor, the terror in her eyes as she blinks back her tears not making a single sound, run I say to her go to the woods and hide I’ll send Arlo right behind you.

As I rush to the side of the car I see Alexander out numbered but fighting as hard as he can to stop the men and other wolves getting to us, the smell of death and coldness in the air only means one thing.. Vampires!

I rush to get Arlo out the car to send him after Lexi so I can then help fight along side Alexander the pack warriors will be here soon I keep saying to myself, it’s all going to be ok I reassure Arlo as I pull him gently through the window, I turn to place Arlo on the ground telling him to run as he leaves my arms I go to shift as a sharp pain piercing into my side, I can feel the fluid flowing through my veins I can’t shift, Wolfs bane and silver it can only be that the pain is surreal I fall to the floor unable to move my body as the drug takes over, I see my Alpha, my husband, my best friend, my everything hit the floor back in human form they must have stabbed him too blood all over his body, just then I feel it the excruciating pain as if my heart is being ripped apart piece by piece, the blood in my veins filled with wolfs bane and silver can’t stop the feeling of the mate bond being severed, they killed him tears fill my eyes and my body burns, the emotion radiating through my body, my soulmate gone. I scramble to fight the drug and loss of my mate with everything I have, I need to save my babies! I turn my head and see Arlo get grabbed I try to move and with that everything went black.
