Heartbreak And Fury

1250 Words
Inside Zane's apartment, Zara's sobs echoed her deep sorrow, audible even from outside. The air was thick with anguish, each sob a poignant reminder of her heartbreak. "What happened, Zara? Why are you crying?" Zane asked worriedly, her eyes welling up with tears at the sight of Zara's distress. Her voice wavered with concern and fear. Zara tried to speak, but only hoarse cries emerged. Her chest heaved as she struggled to breathe through her sobs. "Zara," Zane gently stroked her sister's back, her touch both tender and desperate, trying to provide comfort amidst the emotions. They sat on Zane's bed, which was about the size of a twin. The mattress was 38 inches wide, perfect for a girl's bed, and 10 inches thick, combining comfort and style. It had a soft surface decorated with pastel butterflies and flowers, making it a dreamy and inviting place to sleep. The hypoallergenic cover was gentle on the skin, ensuring a peaceful night's rest. The mattress offered a balanced mix of firmness and cushioning, ideal for sleeping and reading. This charming mattress added comfort and a touch of elegance to any girl's bedroom. Zara, with her feet on the floor, sobbed, her body shaking with each cry. Her face was buried in her hands, her shoulders hunched forward, conveying her deep distress. Next to her, Zane sat with one arm wrapped around Zara's shoulders, gently pulling her into a comforting side hug. She rested her other hand softly on Zara's back, rubbing in slow, soothing circles. Zane's expression was a mix of concern and empathy as she murmured reassuring words. "Zara, whatever it is, I am here by your side," Zane comforted her sister, her voice a steady anchor in the storm of emotions. Meanwhile, in front of the 'Capitals Group' building, Leonard hurriedly grabbed the keys to his car, which he had left inside his office desk. He was now wearing a black, well-fitted suit, but the buttons were undone and it looked disheveled. "Babe! What are we going to do now?" asked Anna Barron, the petite girl he had been with earlier, her voice filled with worry, her eyes wide with panic. "Don't bother me right now!" Leonard snapped at Anna, who had fixed her white blouse but still looked shaken. "Babe? Where are you going? What about me?" Anna cried out as she saw Leonard grabbing his car keys, her voice breaking. "My marriage is ruined!" Leonard replied, his voice filled with a mix of anger and desperation. "Get out of here!" he added, his tone harsh and final. "Where are you going?" Anna pleaded, tears forming in her eyes as Leonard was about to leave. "What do you think? I'm going to find Zara and explain everything to her!" Leonard shouted as he left, his voice echoing in the hallway. "Babe, what about me? Don't leave me here!" Anna cried out as Leonard exited the office, her voice trembling. "Figure it out yourself!" Leonard shouted back, his voice cold and dismissive. Back in Zane's apartment, inside the room, "Zara, are you okay now?" Zane asked her sister, who had just stopped crying. Zara nodded in response, her eyes red and swollen, her face a picture of despair. "Zara, what really happened?" Zane asked again, still holding her sister, her voice gentle but insistent. Although she could barely speak, Zara forced herself to say something, "Za, Zane, it's Leonard." Zara said in a barely audible, hoarse voice, each word a struggle. "It's Leonard, I caught him with another woman," she confessed, breaking into tears again, her body wracked with sobs. "What?!" Zane exclaimed, shocked, her voice rising in disbelief. "That shameless b*stard. He will pay for this," Zane said, unable to contain her anger upon hearing what happened, her face hardening with resolve. "No—No wonder he often didn't come home. He had someone else," Zara said, her voice trembling with grief, each word laced with pain. "No wonder... he—he's always in a bad mood and irritable when he comes home," she continued, her voice full of sorrow, her heart heavy with betrayal. After a while, the sound of a car arriving could be heard, its engine cutting off with a harsh finality. Moments later, a man's desperate voice echoed through the stillness of the early afternoon. "Zara!" he shouted, his voice raw with urgency, from outside the apartment. "Zara! Please let me explain!" the man pleaded, pounding on Zane's apartment door. It was Leonard, his voice filled with a mix of desperation and regret. When the two sisters heard his voice, they froze momentarily. The room seemed to hold its breath, the only sound the faint hum of city life outside. Zane quickly stood up, her movements sharp and determined, ready to confront Leonard, but Zara grabbed her hand, her grip tight and trembling. "Zane?" Zara said, her voice a fragile whisper, her eyes wide with fear and sorrow, her hands clutching her sister's right hand like a lifeline. "Don't worry, Zara. I'll just talk to that shameless man," Zane reassured her sister, but her voice and expression were filled with intense anger, her jaw clenched tightly. The room seemed to vibrate with her fury. "Z—Zane," Zara pleaded, her voice breaking, trying to hold her back. She knew exactly what her sister was thinking and what she is capable of. Having been together for almost 20 years, Zara was the only person who truly understood her sister's temperament. Zane was kind, respectful, humble, and loving, but if anyone hurt her loved ones, whatever the reason is, they will pay the price. The room's dim light cast long shadows, highlighting Zane's tense posture. Besides regularly exercising and having a strong physique, Zane had also studied karate and became the women's division champion last year. Zane couldn't contain her emotions any longer. Her eyes burned with righteous fury as she gently but firmly removed her sister's hands from her. "Z—Zane, wait!" Zara tried to stop her sister, but her words fell on deaf ears as Zane had already left the room, the door swinging shut with a decisive thud. Outside the apartment, Leonard's cries for forgiveness to Zara continued, growing more frantic with each passing second. The apartment door soon opened, creaking slightly. Leonard's face lit up with hope, thinking it was Zara giving him a chance to explain. His heart raced, pounding loudly in his chest, as he took a step forward. But to his shock, it was not Zara who emerged from the door but Zane. Her eyes were cold and piercing, her expression a storm of controlled rage. The hallway lights flickered ominously, casting a harsh light on Zane's determined face. Despite their years together, Leonard could easily distinguish between the twins. At that moment, Leonard felt an overwhelming sense of fear, his breath hitching in his throat. "Z-Zane?" Leonard couldn't mutter a single word, unable to meet Zane's gaze, he took an involuntary step back. Zane clenched her fists, her knuckles whitening. She threw a powerful punch that landed squarely on Leonard's face. The impact was like a thunderclap, the sound echoing down the hallway. The force of the punch sent Leonard flying several meters before he crashed into a wall, the air knocked out of him. "I will never forgive you!" Zane said in a chilling voice, each word dripping with venom. "You made my sister cry," her presence was a storm, a force of nature that demanded retribution.
