“I’m going to shower.” I don’t wait. I slip out, shut the door behind me, and lean against it for a second. “Okay.” My head is clearer now. Not spinning. Just… full. Fragments still there—things I said, things they won’t tell me. My face heats. “I’m actually never drinking again.” I mumble to myself. I push off the door before I can think about it too much, turning the shower on. Steam fills the room quickly, wrapping around me as I step in. And finally—quiet.
