The water shuts off. The sound fades, leaving only the warmth lingering in the room, steam curling slowly around us. For a moment, neither of us move. Then I step out first, reaching for a towel and wrapping it around myself, the cooler air brushing against my damp skin. He follows a second later, slower, dragging a towel around his waist. I turn back toward him. Water still traces down his shoulders, his chest. My hand lifts, brushing lightly over his chest as I step closer. “I really loved last night,” I say softly. “I loved it more,” he says. Something warm settles in my chest.
