Sally shook her head. "You seemed really rushed just now. Was there something urgent? Go ahead and take care of it, my injury isn't serious."
She said this, but as she tried to hide her hand behind her back, she deliberately sucked in a sharp breath, her eyes filling with tears as she gazed up at him. Kyle paused mid-step, then turned back, gently helping her sit down on the sofa as he applied ointment to her wound.
Seeing him handle her so carefully, Sally couldn't help but glance at the phone still in her hand, intentionally steering the conversation to subtly inquire about the relationship between the two.
