"Uncle Kyle, it's you," Lila said in her sweet, childish voice.
Kyle smiled, gently patting her fluffy hair. His tone was warm. "What are you doing here? It's time to sleep. Where's your nurse? Why isn't she with you?"
Lila didn't answer directly. Instead, she pointed to the vending machine.
"Uncle Kyle, I put coins in there twice, but nothing came out. Can you help me?"
Raising an eyebrow, Kyle patiently explained, "The vending machine is probably jammed. Let me try."
He walked up to the machine, found the contact number displayed on it, and called. But no one answered the call. In the end, he resorted to using brute force. He shook the machine hard a few times, and with two loud clunks, something fell into the dispenser.
