Chapter 12 Slowly, Ripa regained consciousness. His hand gripped his head, attempting to soothe the massive ringing. His eyes rolled beneath his half-open lids. “Ugh, what…where am I?” Fuzziness faded into elaborate designs. A colorfully tapestried tent eventually greeted him. Beside him, the design moved; a gentle flow of scales contracting and extending in succession. “AH!” Ripa jumped away, now fully awake. Landing in a pile of pillows, his hooves lost their footing.
