The mansion was oddly quiet when I arrived. It was around seven in the evening.
When I walked into the living room, I saw no one there.
"Mom?" No answer. It was oddly quiet that my voice echoed in the huge mansion. "Dad?" Still no answer. Thinking that my brother might be inside somewhere, I called out for him. "Ace?"
Where the heck are they?
Frowning, I walked further into the mansion. I passed by the dining room, the kitchen and stopped in front of the tinted glass sliding back doors.
Taking a deep breath, I slid them open to the side.
Darkness.
That was what greeted me when I took the first step out to the backyard. The bulbs along the pathway were off. The gazebo was so dark as well, the pool, the fish pond, the basketball and tennis court too.
