After sleeping late into the afternoon of the next day, I decided I would not just cower in my cell anymore. I do not want Dorian to think that he has won and I am defeated and only filled with fear of him.  I dressed in a cream dress with a purple sash around the waist and an alluring square cut over my chest. The dress was short to my calves, which meant that if I wore my favored leather boots, I would look rather laughable. For the first time, I consented to myself to wear a small pair of black two-inch high heels. I tied up my hair in an elegant array of curls using the light green ribbon I had received from the girl, Tania, in the village.
