I woke up alone in my bed. Maria must have woken up a moment before me because I could still feel the warmth in the place where she lay. Her scent surrounded me from every direction. I could feel my wolf rejoicing. I sharpened my senses and heard the sound of shower water coming from Princess' bathroom. I breathed a sigh of relief that we were going down together. I still wanted to be able to talk to her in front of everyone.
I felt like an i***t. I tried to remember why I thought she was sleeping with Mark. I actually just saw her sitting on him and he was shirtless. Maybe it was in the way they were with each other that I sensed the flirtation and closeness that I envied.
