CHAPTER 3 : THE FALSE FRIENDS

283 Words
THE FALSE FRIENDS Days passed, and the atmosphere in the palace became heavy with caution. Guards were doubled, and everyone was alert. But just as they were preparing for war, something unexpected happened. Three elegant carriages arrived at the main gates. They were decorated with strange, glowing symbols, and the people riding them wore beautiful, expensive robes. They looked so noble and peaceful. They introduced themselves as The Travelers from the Eastern Lands. "Greetings, Your Majesties," said a man with a gentle smile, bowing gracefully. "We have heard of the birth of your wonderful son, the Prince. We have traveled a long way just to witness his beauty and offer our blessings." Elana looked at them, feeling a little relieved. They seemed so kind and harmless. "Are you here to see Lunar?" she asked softly. "Yes, My Queen," another woman spoke, her voice sweet like honey. "We are scholars who study the stars. We felt a very powerful and bright light born in this land. We simply wish to pay respect to the young Prince. He must be truly special." Lance observed them quietly. He couldn't sense any immediate danger from them, but his instincts as an Alpha were telling him to be careful. However, seeing how polite they were and knowing they came with good words, he decided to trust them for now. "Very well," Lance said calmly. "You may stay as our guests. But remember, this is our home, and we expect respect." "Of course, Your Majesty!" they all said in unison, bowing again. But behind their smiles and closed eyes, their true intentions were dark and greedy. "Soon," the leader thought silently, "the Child of the Stars will be ours."
