CHAPTER 9 : THE UNEXPECTED RETURN

287 Words
THE UNEXPECTED RETURN Peace had finally returned to the palace. Everyone was happy, celebrating the safe return of Prince Lunar. The King and Queen thought that the matter was completely over. The enemies were defeated, their leaders were captured, and everything seemed to be back to normal. But they were wrong. Deep in the darkest part of the forest, in a hidden cave, a terrifying presence was awakening. The news of their failure had reached the ears of someone much more powerful and dangerous. Inside the dark room, a tall figure sat on a throne made of bones and thorns. His face was hidden by a dark hood, but his eyes glowed with a terrifying purple light. He was holding a crystal ball where he saw everything that happened. "They failed?" the man whispered, his voice deep and raspy, echoing in the silent cave. "Those useless fools lost to a mere Alpha and a witch? They couldn't even take one small child?" He stood up slowly, and the temperature in the room dropped instantly. The air became heavy and suffocating. "They think it is over? They think that by beating my subordinates, they have won?" He let out a low, dangerous chuckle. "How naive." "I am the Grand Sorcerer, Malakor," he said, stepping out of the shadows. "And I will not accept this defeat. They took what belongs to me. They humiliated my power." He raised his hand, and dark, twisted magic swirled around him like angry snakes. "Prepare my carriage," he commanded to the darkness. "We are going to visit the Royal Palace. I will show them what true power looks like. I will take the child myself... and I will make them beg for mercy."
