My day improved exponentially after that because Kip called.
"Hey, Jamie! How are you, Babe?" He sounded wonderful and also tantalizingly close, which I knew wasn't the case.

"Dead tired. Remember how I said I wouldn't call you at three in the morning? I lied, it's three a.m. here." He laughed. "Flight was okay, met an Aussie on the plane who wants to get a beer some time, mate, and I'm meeting my new boss in the afternoon."
