“These bags are too heavy,” Celia said adjusting her bag pack. We have been loading our bags on a cart at the outskirts of Luminora. “I told you not to pack the entire house,” I said taking the bag from her. “Entire house?” She widened her eyes dramatically “I just brought the essentials.” “Yeah, and that essentials contains your entire wardrobe.” I put all the bags on the carts that would deliver everything directly to Seraphel. The outskirts was crowded with many immortals who were heading to the Academy like us. Everyone was accompanied by their parents who came to see them up. Everyone would probably be sad for leaving their hometown but I felt relief for leaving the lonely city and going back to my friends. Unlike every day, the city was too lively for the upcoming preparation of Novara. One of the great festivals dedicated to Deus. It is said that any wish you make this day comes true. Whoever said this was clearly a liar. I have been asking the same wish for centuries but it never came true rather the festival that joins families tore apart mine. Centuries ago, when everyone was celebrating this day, my father was being killed. I placed a hand on my heart taking deep breaths to not think about this. “Hey girls.” A voice came from behind us. I turned around and a smile caught my face. “Kyren, we were waiting for you” I said. “Hello Kyren” Celia exclaimed waving her hands, “You are late.” “Yes, just by 2 minutes and 20 seconds from the given time,” he said Kyren was always precise in every matter. For him his time and study matter more than anything, you will always find him holding a book irrespective of the place. even right now his hands are full of books. “I think we will meet our rest friends in the Academy?” He asked putting his books in the cart. “Yes, they would be leaving Dejia now” I said looking at the sky as the sky dragons descended. As the dragons landed, everyone started mounting on them. “See you in Seraphel” Kyren said moving to his dragon. I turned to Celia who was looking at the streets as if bidding farewell to home or may be waiting for someone. I placed my hand on her shoulder. She didn’t even flinch. Celia always hides everything behind her jokes but I know how she feels. I know how she is desperately waiting for a single glance of our mother. Every night she waits for mom to come back to us. She wants to break the walls between us even after knowing its simply not possible. She can fake her smiles and jokes but I can feel her anxiety and sadness. “Let’s go,” I wrapped my arms around her and took her towards the dragon waiting for us. The creature lowered his head so we could mount on. I helped Celia climb first then she held out her hand to help me. As we mount the dragon, it stretched its wings widely and took off. The wind hit sharply, pulling at my clothes. My hair whipped across my face I looked down as Luminora shrank into distance until it disappeared. “I love the sky,” Celia said spreading her arms. “Is there anything you don’t love?” “Yes, Bernard’s lectures.” I chuckled. She put back her hands on the neck on the dragon “I admit,” After a few hours of journey, the outlines of Seraphel started being visible. The entire place was surrounded by dense forest. In the middle of it lied The Light and Darkness Academy. The sky dragons slowly started descending. It landed in front of the huge gate of the academy where Melantha, Oren and Bernard; our academy teachers were already waiting. Celia and I climbed down the dragon one by one. A sense of belonging washed over me as I looked at the familiar gates. A smile crossed my face without realising. Slowly everyone reached the academy. My eyes soon started searching for our friends. Jane accompanied by Kyren and Calix were already coming towards us. The five of us, same as always. A warm smile spread across my face. “I wonder how lucky I am to see the Light sisters in early morning,” Calix said spreading his arms in hug. “Wrong timing Calix. It’s afternoon” I said hugging him in a friendly way. “Not my fault that I am not Kyren,” he said hugging the others “Don’t blame me for your carelessness.” Kyren said narrowing his eyes. “Come on guys who cares about timing,” Jane said rolling her eyes. “We met after a long time so let’s enjoy.” “Though we met yesterday but yes we can enjoy,” Celia said matching Jane’s enthusiasm. “You guys met yesterday?” Calix widened his eyes dramatically, “without inviting me? How could you do this Kyren?” He shook his best friend, “you guys betray me,” he put his head on Kyren’s shoulders. “I…. I wasn’t there with them,” Kyren tried to push Calix away who was now glued to them. “Are you sure?” “Obviously.” Kyren said finally pushing him away. He nodded his head and turned to us, “So what were you trio plotting against us.” “A murder plan,” I said acting to think harder. “O Deus, we have a killer in our academy,” he said putting a hand on his heart, “That too a light. Come on leave something as dark as murder to us Darkness.” “Are you underestimating us?” I said putting an arm around my sister. “Exactly! We can do anything. Isn’t it Kyren?” Celia said turning to him. “I would rather stay away from such plans.” Kyren said taking a step back. “Jane?” She looked at her “I am always in your team little Demon” Jane said hugging Celia, “I am so happy to come back to the academy.” I missed these bickering so bad. It feels like now I am back home. “If everyone’s gossiping is over let’s get back to the Academy,” Oren’s stern voice cut through the crowd silencing everyone. “Welcome back students” Melantha spoke with a smile. “Freshen up and come to the classes for lesson.” Bernard said dryly and entered into academy. “Ugh, I hate coming back here,” Jane said making a face. “Someone was so happy a while ago,” I said as I passed her to enter the academy.
