Bryce moves his head from side to side slowly as he is lying down on his bed. Yesterday, Eli and Peyton's mother, Margaret, found him unconscious on the floor near Dr. Latimer's office door. Everyone has been trying to figure out what sort of altercation occurred there because, somehow, Dr. Latimer as well as Peyton have disappeared from the face of the earth.

A sharp needle like pain ignites on the side of his head as he jolts in his sleep. He starts to remember what happened while he was trying to find Peyton by following her scent. He screamed for her name but someone hit him hard on the side of his head, making him fall unconscious.
