This was the moment Tom had dreaded and knew was inevitable. Nothing was hidden forever. He knew sooner or later, Wellington was going to find out especially at the rate Isabella was going about it. She had always said she could handle it, he should not be scared but was she just being delusional? The last time was just a close shave but this time, it was red handed and there was no way out. They disengaged and the fear Isabella displayed made Tom’s fear worse. She could not handle it and all of her confidence drifted away. “My love…” She began. “Shut up!” Wellington snarled and  his eyes showed disbelieve, shock and pains. “I am not your love.” “I am sorry. It was  a goof..the work of the devil.” “You are the devil. You and your cousin. I knew it! I knew this boy nothing but a devil’s advocate who claims Jesus Christ is his lord.” Tom was shivering, thinking of a way out. He checked to see if Wellington was holding a sword. Wellington was not the type of man that would just use a sword in him now. He knew he had a lot of guests now, and he loved to kill people who hurt him deeply slowly. Using a sword now was too lenient for Tom. He saw Isabella standing naked, with her curves and felt pains that she had been depriving him of these and given it to this boy. There was nothing he hated more than a woman choosing someone over him, even if it was not just physically but emotionally. This was a case of both. She deprived him of her body and gave it to him. He thought it was just about family but no, she was in love with her cousin. Now it all added up. The changes began since this boy came. How could he have been so blind? He never suspected them for once because it was impossible. Even when he asked Tom if she was seeing another man, it was just an act to see if he had an idea of what was going on with her but he had tried her so many times and she proved her fidelity. He was right about her before now. She never cheated on him but Tom broke the spell. This was not the first time but something that had been going on. How could Tom be so heartless? He allowed him stay in his house, allowed his wife give him lucrative jobs, had the privilege of going about with guards. Those may not have been his ideas but he allowed it and he was the sine quo non of all of the resources. Why were people so ungrateful? His wife! His wedded wife was not entirely his. What could be more painful than this? Tom! Tom had taken everything he loved from him. He wanted Rose, Tom took her away. He then took his wife of ten years away and this was their anniversary day. What a shame! “On our anniversary day, Isabella.” He said with a dead calm. He closed his eyes and broke into tears. The sound of his sobs entered Tom like a sharp sword. He knew there was no way Wellington would let this go. He could not even move to put on his clothes as he stood frozen. “I am sorry my love.” She pleaded in tears. “It is just lust and I feel nothing for him. Please punish me only and let him live and leave. It is entirely my fault because I seduced him.” “How could you do that?” “You know I have never cheated on you.” “But you do now and even o our anniversary day. That is wicked.” “Please forgive me. You are a good man. You are father of my children. I am ashamed of myself and can never stand you again. I will leave even if you don’t divorce me. I am worse than a w***e because they do it for money but I am married and do this…” “No!” he said assertively. “You will not leave me. I forgive you both but promise it will never happen again.” “I swear it would never repeat itself.” Wellington looked at Tom. “You will leave my house first thing in the morning, please and never come back to Dransvalle. You are the cause of this. She was not like this until you came with the charade of a man of God. Are we even sure you are not an impersonator? Are you really Uncle’s Peter’s child? Well, even if you are the son of the Pope, please leave first thing I the morning and never bother to come say goodbye. I don’t want to see your face again. You must have saved enough to take care of your journey.” “Sire!” A deep voice called from outside. “Go away, Drood.” “Sire it’s an emergency.” Wellington paused. That was Drood and Drood never joked. When he says it is an emergency, it was definitely something serious. But what could be more serious than this? There was a lot to be done tonight. First, Tom was going to be watched. Immediately he left this house, he was going to be kidnapped and taken to his torture house. He would die within a span of two weeks after series of torture. Then Rose had to be kidnapped tonight. Now he had all reasons to do that. But why could he not let Isabella go? Why did he love her so much? Even after this, he still wanted her and was ready to forgive her but he had to live with it for the rest of his life. He was glad she said it was just lust and not love. That was a big relief. Maybe it was his fault. He was not giving her so much time. No, it was not his fault but Rita’s fault. She made him get addicted to her and it caused this. Well, nothing of these could take away the pains he felt now but killing Tom and abducting Rose would reduce his pains. Wellington looked at Tom, with an effort, he said, “good bye, Timothy.” He dashed out and met a man who was almost seven feet tall standing. This man, Drood was one of the most ruthless men Wellington ever met. A retired pirate who was the head of his slave trade department, he was the brain behind most of Wellington’s kidnappings, tortures, murders and intimidations. “What is it, Drood?” “This is not good, sire. I got this anonymously. I am not aware of the incident but if it is true, we have to act now.” He handed a paper to Wellington and he read it using the lamp Drood held. Wellington read it and a cold sensation crawled up inside him. This was definitely not a hoax! What? This was a fact and he had to do something now or else, it would be his end. “Get the squad fast!”  Wellington said and Drood noticed that he had never seen his boos look this perturbed. What was going on? First he looked beaten as he came out of the cabin and now it was sheer fear. “I will talk to my guests.” Wellington rushed away. He was going to excuse himself from the party while he asked them to enjoy themselves. He had an emergency to attend to?  He had come out of the party hall with the intention of looking for Isabella who excused herself and did not come back and a guard said he saw her going to her cousin’s cabin. When he heard her moaning, he felt it was auditory hallucination and luckily, she the door was not properly locked and they were so carried away. He went to the hall and made an announcement that he had an emergency commitment but would be back in thirty minutes. He said they should enjoy more music, wine, food and dance. He left in a hurry and this time, they all used horses. Tom hurriedly wore his clothes and was still confused. He knew waiting until morning was sheer suicide. Wellington could find it resonating with him and change his mind. “I told you!” Tom said, “I told you. Do you think he will let me go free? I don’t believe him. He said it. He will forgive you but he will kill the man. He only said that because of you. If I leave, he will get me kidnapped and get me killed.” She smiled and tried to touch his face. “Leave me alone!” he drew his face back. “I told you and you can do anything about it. You were scared. If he had decided to kill me then, there was nothing you could have done. You did not even lock the door.” “I thought I did. I was really craving for you. So what do you plan to do?”  “I am leaving right away.” Then the thought of Rose fell on him. He could not leave here. This place was too dangerous for her. Wellington was not the type of man to turn down, not in the manner at which she did it. Sooner or later he would make sure he got her; by will or force. He will see her and they should run away. “You can’t leave now. I know him Tim. He will let you go. Give me a few minutes.’ She went out in a hurry. Few minutes? No! He was going to look for Rose. As he came out of the door, he saw three armed men standing before him. “You are not to leave, sire.” Tom felt his heart banging. He knew it. Wellington had placed an order. “The cabin is surrounded.” The guard added. “I mean no escape route through the roof, back or side, Mr. Favorite cousin. I am Farmon, the guy you stole his love. I know what has been going on in the Red Block. I am glad you are caught embezzling money to impress my girl.” He laughed. “I just want to…” Farmon drew out his sword. “Go back and wait!” Tom knew he was in a deep trouble. Would he see Rose again? Was this his end? He moved back inside and closed the door.   *****     The horses galloped with tremendous speeds, raising dust into the frosty night air, as they were rode into the farm. Wellington was ahead, driven by anger, fear, rejection and desperation. What was happening to him? Too much for one night. He could have called it off as a hoax but the details were alarming. “Slow down.” He said and the horses neighed. “We can’t get too close because of the horses.”He said. “Get down everybody.” They all alighted. There were twelve heavily armed men who were members of his killer squad.  This should not take long and Rose would be taken care of. “Spread and move with caution.” He said. “They are four of them. The man with a white coat is our informant but I can’t trust anyone. He may end up blackmailing me so kill him too but if the chance warrants, I need to talk with them first.” They nodded. They began to move stealthily as Wellington took them to the spot. As they got closer, he realized that he had not being here since the day it happened. He could not deny that he missed Rita but when he remembered her last actions, he hated her. They got there but waited, looking round carefully. They saw nobody. They waited for another ten minutes but saw nothing. Was it a hoax? But the details were too real. Did he miss the spot? No! How could he miss the spot he and Rita had made love for years? Then he got the possible explanation. They were not here yet so they would simply wait for them. “I think they have not come.” Wellington said. “But let’s do a quick check and then set positions to wait for them.” “Yes Sire.” Drood said and they came out of hiding. “I was not aware of this sire.” Drood said. “I don’t work for you but you work for me. I only tell you what concerns you.” “Yes sire.” Wellington saw the spot Rita, John the slaves and the horses were buried. What a shame. It was their fault and now, he was the leader of those searching for them. He donated a large amount of money to facilitate the search, hired maids to take care of the children and unknown to them, they were inside this hole. Now the question was, how did Philemon know? All he needed was to move the bodies out, burn them and spread o the sea. No evidence, no case but that was after he killed the stupid law men. Foop! Foop! Foop! It happened so fast and unexpected as the arrows fired pierced through them. It took no time for them to all fall down. Three of the men died instantly. What was going on? Wellington was moaning in pains as he tried to removed the arrow that stuck to his thigh and shoulder but the arrow heads had spikes which made that impossible. They were moaning in pain. Then about ten strongly built men appeared from the darkness, saying no word or looking at them and started digging a hole. “What is going on here? You are the royal soldiers.” “Back slaves!” Drood said and Wellington got more confused. Slaves? “Hey, it’s me. Sir Wellington your master. I need help.” The men ignored him but kept digging powerfully, raising dust as they loosened the soil and poured out sound. “Someone talk to me. You will regret this. It is me.” “Of course they know it’s you.” A voice emerged and someone came out of the darkness, walking majestically. “Hello, my love.” Wellington could not believe his eyes as he saw Isabella. No! This must be a nightmare. “You?” There were four heavily armed black men behind her. “These men are the best archers I have ever seen and they have the knowledge of making the arrow heads with spikes and poisoned. Though the poison does not kill instantly. It weakens the victim so do not think you or any of your men can do a thing.” “Isabella it’s me.” She laughed. “It has always been you. Do you know what, Wellington my love? I could not believe you had the effrontery to feel bad that Tim was making sweet, passionate and vigorous love to me.” “Incest.” “Perspective. The Muslims marry their cousins ones they are not from the same parents so i****t is perspective and mind you, Tim is not my cousin or Uncle Peter’s son. He is a god sent. A love I have been waiting for unknowingly. I knew you were going to find out but that was only when I was ready, Remember the day you came to change your clothes in his room? We were making love. Tim is the only man makes me go crazy in bed and you knocked. He was scared especially after you took him to the farm to question him. I simply went out through a secret back door which looks like a part of the wall, “she giggled, “and turned round to enter through the front door. Now, Tim thought it was magical.” She laughed. “I never cheated on you Wellington even though I knew you were cheating on me. I could not do it but when I met Tim. At first, it was revenge and lust but I fell in love with him and realized he you were just the caretaker and he was the owner. You were the sponsor and he was the beneficiary. |I loved him and did not want you to share me with him...” These words were more tormenting to Wellington than the pains of the arrows. “I was just looking at you moments ago that you felt the pains of him having me. Okay, remember the day he came? He knocked at the door and when I opened the door, I sw him in your clothes and had your horse. You were so lost in s*x he took away your clothes and the lord brought him to me. That day, we had s*x on your bed and I your pool and I purposely did not flush it because you should get stained in our fluids. Your said I was wicked? Wellington, I found out that the mysterious mistress of yours was Rita, your best friends wife and I was pissed off but having Tim by me, on me, beneath me, besides m I stopped feeling jealous but there was a problem. I did not want you to touch me again and was tired of having a secret affair with Tim so I began to see you as a threat. Luckily for me, I found out it was Rita so I set you up. I gave John the tip on the day he caught you but he did not know it was me. I followed you people and saw everything; from the way you were having s*x and how he appeared and you killed them. When I saw where they to be buried, I left and rushed home to have s*x with my love. I was the one who sent the letter to Drood. I purposely let you see me go out and left  the door opened. I know you and can predict you. I know you plan to kill Tim. I know you will die before morning. I also know he would try to run away so ? I made the guards stop him if he tried. I would go back and give him the good news. I wanted you to have the privilege of seeing having s*x with him before you die and I got that. Feel the pains you inflict on people. These men are slaves I used and I am giving them  freedom and money so they are leaving for life. I am sorry but I am in love with Tim and we are getting married. I am taking over everything you ever owned for me, my new husband, my children and our future children.” This was too much for Wellington to take. Everything played into reality now. Was she this smart? He underestimated her. “Good bye Wellington. You will be buried in the hole next to Rita and her husband. Neighbors for life.” She raised her hand and struck him with a sword. He just made a single sound and he was dead. “Kill the rest.’ She ordered. *******
