Maya’s POV
For a long time, I stared at the blank phone screen until my reflection disappeared in the black glass.
I had imagined so much on the island, but not once did I imagine all of these would happen.
I had thought we would probably come back, and he'd just tell someone to take me out of his sight.
Or tell me the thing between us on the island was nothing serious.
I even imagined my reaction if he were to do something like that…
But it never crossed my mind that something like this could happen.
