Maya’s POV
I jumped from the bench, sleep disappearing from my eyes.
The sound of the blades ripped the sky open. Liam and I locked eyes, our mouths falling into the same reckless smile. We were going home.
Tears welled up for no reason in my eyes.
“We’re going home,” he breathed, pulling me into a kiss so fierce it made my knees weak.
